MTN contract

So this morning I got no replies from MTN (as per usual via Facebook and Twitter)

I (upon advice) went to the MTN store outside Century City by the Shell Garage - the lady at counter 2, clearly not interested in assisting me at least said a few things that made me even more angry - when a contract is taken out or added - the primary number is supposed to get a SMS (or in my case, SMS's) / notification (s) that it's been done - which clearly it didn't come because I use the tablet DAILY and the only SMS's I get are spam SMS's.

Suffice to say, they couldn't even assist me with a direct number to MTN Fraud department or give me any other assistance.

Anyways, frustrated, I left there and went to Heron Crescent Regional Office of MTN - I was ready for useless'ness there BUT!

I spoke to a Bandile Nkabinde and he took all my details and has started the process of getting things sorted.
I'm feeling very positive now that Bandile Nkabinde has started things - 5 minutes after I left the Regional Office - Twitter replied to me saying that my case is receiving priority - he then sent me another e-mail saying:

*Feeling very positive now!*

It's sad that one has to go to these lengths in the NEW YEAR to get an issue resolved.

Finally, some progress.
Hope they sort this mess out for you.

I hope so too - I honestly think MTN need to reevaluate how it does things - I think they should take a hint from Vodacom - I use them as well as my primary number and I honestly never have issues and when I do, it gets resolved very easy - the social media team of Vodacom are brilliant and when there is a problem, they solve it and keep the client constantly updated but then again, people know this, there was a post recently on MyBB about how Vodacom has the happiest clients.

So, update!

This morning I received a call from Bandile Nkabinde informing me of the following:

Good day

Apologies for delay respond. Please note that Fraud Ref no# REQ: 6047914 has been resolved with both below added sim deactivated , A credit note request Ref no# <removed> for R3719.70 has been lodged and the credit will reflect in your bank account in the next three working days.

Add sim 1 : 27718867946
Add sim 2 : 27718867944

Now my next mission is to get my main contract number cancelled so I can remove my presence from MTN for once and for all.

Finally, I get an answer!

Good day

Please be advised that your settlement amount for your Sony Experia Tablet Z is R1789

Regards

Rudzani

My reply to Rudzani was

Hi,

Let's process the cancellation ASAP please.
Advise me what you need from me or if nothing, just do it.

I just want confirmation (for my records) that I have 0 open contracts and owe MTN R0.

/Nick

I'm actually excited.

And Rudzani hasn't bothered to reply with my request to cancel my contract - typical of this guy - I think I need to involve Bandile Nkabinde again to get anything done at MTN.

MTN have refunded me yet, but I'm sure it will happen before Monday - however, Rudzani still hasn't bothered to reply to my e-mails so this morning I sent the following (CC'd Bandile):

Hi Rudzhani,

On Wednesday, I sent you 2 e-mails regarding the ‘cancellation’ of my contract – as per the e-mail below, I asked you to arrange the amount be taken off as a debit order (like normal and not from the credit) and then process the cancelation of my contract, you have not bothered to reply to either of the 2 e-mails.

Bandile, this is the type of service that MTN provides – if he can’t deal with it, or doesn’t want to, please ask someone who wants to assist me.

I’m sick of struggling with MTN – if you want, I’ll come to your office again today and we can chat about this cancellation.

/Nick

So Rudzhani actually PHONED me now... finally - I always thought it was a GUY, it's actually a lady.

She asked me if I want to convert to pre-paid after the cancellation - I explained I want NOTHING more to do with MTN, I want the number fully cancelled and then I want a e-mail / letter sent to me saying that I owe MTN R0 and that our 'relationship' is fully over.

Let's see what happens...

It would be easier to escape out of jail. :p

It's Monday, nothing has happened from last week with regarding to my issues.

I've sent MTN the following e-mail:

Hi all,

It’s now Monday.
My bank account has still not be credited with R3719.70.

Also, the cancellation of the main line has still not been done either.

I’m under the impression YOU are supposed to keep me updated, and not me YOU.

Can I get feedback that results in action by today, I’m done waiting now.

Bandile – I’m pleading with you to sort this out today, and Rudzhani, you called me, told me it would all be done “TODAY” (when you called me) and yet, I’m still waiting…

It’s like I’m just been told stuff, but nothing is actually happening.

/Nick

What Bandile and Rudzhani don't know is, tomorrow I strip my moer... Tomorrow I go into the regional office with a colleague and I let them have it.

So Bandile called me earlier.

My credit that I'm so patiently waiting ISN'T COMING - when they told me that they did it, they didn't - they lied.
Now what they are doing is they are going to try work my 'cancellation' fee for my main number into the amount they owe me, then do a EFT for the remainder amount.

However, Bandile is going to sort me out rather, because he and I both don't trust Rudzhani and the rest of MTN to do what is required.

So Nick, did you not know that MTN was debiting your account for a contract you know nothing about?

So MTN really has a problem. I have requested cancellation for my contract as of the 28th of December and nothing has been done two emails have been sent to their retentions department no response how can I get this contract cancelled

You want my advice? Goto the nearest regional office and get it done. It's time people started showing MTN (and others) that these "can only contact via e-mail" services don't work... CLEARLY!

So, tomorrow is Friday, that means for many, it's the weekend... for me, it is supposed to mean the end of this MTN drama for me.

Tomorrow morning I call Bandile and hopefully have news that means that everything has been sorted out, but because it's MTN - I'm not expecting miracles.

According to Bandile the other day when we spoke, things are sorted, account is cancelled, but now I'm just waiting for my refund of the money MTN ALLOWED to be STOLEN from me.

And it's almost 1pm, heard nothing from MTN, tried calling Bandile, reception line (021) 527 2000 is engaged since 12:25.
E-mails, no reply!

I initially wanted to do that, but due to the date and time, FNB was unable to assist me, they also suggested I rather get it back because if I stop it, they'll (MTN) just rerun the debit order - it'll be a vicious circle so instead, this way might be a bit longer and uglier, but it shows MTN's true colours.

Your choice, I prefer returning the debit order, and blocking it - and I've been through MTN - will never deal with them again.
