MTN Data Billing

I thought everything was resolved when I finally got MTN to refund me last month.
Then I got my Dec-Jan bill yesterday - they charged me incorrectly again (the bill includes data charges from September, but I am being charge out of bundle data rates at the beginning of my October billing period, instead of the data being deducted from my bundle).

Restarting the complaints process again!

I've got two contracts, one for work and the other for my personal use. Both are wrong! O happy days!

Maybe we should all email special assignment. I wonder if MTN subscribers in other parts of Africa are suffering the same problem...

Exactly the same problem. Also apparently billed in Jan 2010 for Sept 2009 out of bundle calls (R4500). Surely this cannot be legal.

I think it is time to approach Carte Blanche Consumer

Tried that, they're not interested - didn't even get an automated response - think someone said they're sponsored by MTN - so that might explain it.

Got a call from MTN's lawyers today."Quote"
How do you want to pay? You have 3 months to pay.
Me: Pay what?
Them: Your overdue account.
Me: What is overdue. You tell me.
Them: Well, there is an amount here of ***
Me: Please expedite the litigation as I am going to the UK soon.
Them: Oh. I will report it to MTN query dept.

I dare them to take me to court.

I got a 3G bill of R30K WOOT!!! I cannot get hold of anyone in the billing department. I have double billing and per meg cost that vary from R1 per meg to R10 per meg. 2Gig Bundle DONE Extra 7.6Gig = 9Gigs = R30181.86 I've not had a bill more than R400 a month and I've never gone over my Cap ever!!

ROFL - useless ****ers - never admit you owe money to lawyers - good to see you're still standing your ground. :D

I believe Nashua Mobile had a meeting with MTN yesterday about the billing issues. That must have been an interesting one. The company I work for have requested that ALL their accounts be checked for inaccurate billing... we have loads of accounts!

There's a business opportunity for someone, a company specializing in auditing of MTN bills :p

At last, I got an email from ICASA stating that they have given MTN until next Friday to reply to my over billing to THEM directly or failing this they will report it to CCC for judification. Whatever this means.

**** - how useless can they be to even pursue it... they know their billing is stuffed, but still send lawyers after you.... WTF

Just got the following sms from MTN:

Good day, MTN is aware of duplicate GPRS Records billed during Nov and Dec 2009. The problem has been rectified and a full credit for the In and Out of Bundle value will be issued to you via your Service Provider. You will retain any Loyalty Points earned by this usage. MTN apologizes for the inconvenience.
