The reason I was asking for names is so that I can get someone from a service prospective to ensure that the correct information get's filtered down.

I was just billed over R2800 for "illegal packet downloads"
I had a myChoice Topup 75 (R75 airtime) and they say that I had illegally dloaded over 1.4 gigs from mid Feb-end April. How the heck is this possible ?? I only had R75 airtime ! I they have made a mistake I have a problem - since Icannot prove that they are wrong or that I am right. Another problem also arrises - my phone was stolen round the same time - but by their records it states that a couple of days after this happened I reported my phone stolen
Please help !!! They want the money from me before Mid-day tomorrow.

I think you are going to have a problem. If you reported your phone stolen on the day it got stolen and the phone was blocked then it's their problem. If the person who stole your phone used it during the time it was stolen until you reported it you will have to pay for it. For your sake I hope it's their problem.:(

This does not sound right to me. Is your contract a Mychoice 75, or a Mychoice Topup?

The Mychoice Topup Contract is a semi-prepaid contract. I got one myself. Your bill should to be the same every month.
The cost on my contract is R75 + Caller ID cost. It works out to about R81 pm.
The only additional cost is when you load a data bundle.
E.g if I load a 100 MB data bundle, the amount would be R181.
If you use more data than 100 MB data, the additional cost of the data comes off your available airtime. If you airtime is depleted, you should not be able to connect to the internet anymore.

Then it becomes necessary to "topup" your airtime, the same way that you do it on prepaid.

On the Mychoice 75 contract you would be billed for the extra data.

The bottom line (I think) is that they cannot bill you for that amount on the Mychoice Topup, but it is possible on the Mychoice 75.

If you're on Topup, then if the airtime was up then there couldn't possibly be any call's please PM me your number I'll check it out for you.

No it wasn't

It was a case of the account not being on MYCHOICE 75 it was on MYCALL 100 and there were various issues not including illegal packets

Cool, I was scared of the whole illegal packet thing. Glad it was not that.
 
Hi, i need help in settings up a E620 card using a Dell Latitude D610. when connecting it tries to authenticate and then comes up with an error: Invalid data card. I have loaded and connected successfuly on another notebook. This is the second time I am loading it on a D610, on the previuos one I had to reload the OS, win XP sp2
 
Hi Mtn guy,

Bought a R399 bundle once off after cancelling the subscription.(but got my 2gigs yay!)The pricing is R499 on subscription.
Am i correct in assuming my price per meg is much more then on subscription?
Because after using 100mb, i went from 2gb-1.7gb vs 2gb-1.9 on subscription!
I feel ripped off because it seems the cost p mb on this "2gb" deal might as well be the old 1gb deal with cheaper p mb rates.
Am i correct in assuming that R100 more to be on subscription is the difference in all of this and if so why can"t people warn me of this!

PS:When viewing the MTN webpage on my Opera browser the rates were all jumbled and didn't make sense.

Will do,basically last night after loading my 2gig bundle i used 135mb.
I am now left with 1.63gbs.
My arguement is,it should be 1.87gb.
HHHHHHHEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLP!
