except that theres an account at MTN under my first name and ID number, the rest of the information isnt "mine" and i cant access it cause i cant pass the verification steps. i reported fraud on my bank account to my bank. surely its up to them to take it further? and they charge for it? i pay bank fees for this eventuality. same as getting e-tolled after paying tax. seems right? i cant open a case at the police cause i dont know any of the details on "my account"
as to FNB part, i did get it out of them that the debit order was added on the 25th of last month. so why did i not get notified by the bank till today when they notice money went off to a new debit order. when i want to add a debit order i have to jump through all kinds of hoops and OTP's etc. fair? the crime was committed via fnb (debit order on my account). they should be in a position to handle it better,
charge me for the labour: i highly doubt R18 will even barely touch sides of the "labour" required. its yet again another 1 of those "you wont notice the R5 coming off your account" i really dont like being double charged for stuff.
but hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion. i really hope you dont get to experience this little bundle of fun for yourself tho.
------------
am i wrong in thinking: i only use fnb’s services, the fraud took place via fnb, i should only have to report it to the provider of the service im using. getting me to sort it out with MTN who i dont have any dealings with is unreasonable. FNB allowed the debit order to go through they should sort it out. and then to still charge me for not sorting it out is yet again unreasonable.
