Is this do-able without uninstalling the MTN firmware on my device? I would still like to use it with my MTN sim.

should i use that 8ta connect software and just close the fastlink software? (the 8ta connect software that installs on pc..)
i tried entering those details and create a new profile in the fastlink software, but no luck.

Just download the 8ta connect dash and close the MTN dash.

Can see why it should make any differance - sure your in 8ta coverage?
Edit: ok so you have - in the mtn dash perhaps make a new profile & check that authenication is set to CHAP......Far as i know mtn software shouldn't block you out of being able to connect to any network

yeah i also could not see why it would make a difference. right now i'm like 50m's away form a covered area (well according to the map on their site). i'l be in a new home tomorrow though and will carry on playing then.
just thought i'l start getting my ducks in a row so long and enquire. when i switched the 8ta connect software on, it just said somethign about sim not registered?
the fastlink software just has the "connect" button greyed out.
the consultant in the shop said it is already active though...

Just a little off topic. Will my CellC white modem (7.2mbps) work well with 8ta? I know it will work, but is it recommended to buy an 8ta modem for stronger signal?

at my new spot. modem works 100%. can use the mtn fastlink software or the windows desktop 8ta software. works, no problem. yay. full hsdpa and 10gigs thereof!!!
