MTN hikes contract data prices

How is it legal to ammend the terms of a contract without the consent of all parties?

“MTN offers the best out-of-bundle rates in the market, as well as data carry-over,” the spokesperson said.

You bloody wot m8?

****ing dogs

in contract data prices can be hiked at will, but in contract per minute charges for calls are set in stone until the very last second of your 24 months.

So happy I'm not a customer of theirs! That being said CellC's minimum data charge of 25kb is just as bloody unfair... think my next mobile contract will be will Telkom Mobile...

Queried about why it made the changes, MTN said it was done to align their pricing to what is in the market.

“MTN offers the best out-of-bundle rates in the market, as well as data carry-over,” the spokesperson said.

Sho crack is whack Mr/Ms Spokesperson. We can offer help cause you are clearly goofed

Contract that just expired, moved to prepaid. in 3 months time migrating to ANY other network.

other 2 contracts expire next year. both will not be renewed. considering that at home I have had better and more reliable data signal on cell C than on mtn means no more yellow for me.

Mtn stole money from me by charging me out of bundle rates, while I was connected to the afrihost apn. and close all tickets I log on it without response ( I have proof I was on APN when I was charged OOB rates)

If you complain about network quality you get given a form to fill in then they never respond to it, ever again. complain about that a week later and they give you the form again. (7 times I have filled in the form in the last month, still no response.)

the hello peter response person does not have the ability to read, and simply responds with nonsense and closes tickets.

the Yellow crew here on MyBB as well as Voldemort cannot provide you with feedback on a ticket open with MTN even when you give them the ticket number via PM.

if you sign a contract with mtn right now you are a complete retard and you need to have your brain examined. yes Afrihost is awesome, and the apn works great, but the amount of drama you need to deal with from mtn is not worth it at all.

also come on MTN reps get back to me PM me even, I dare you.

News that Cell C is struggling to pay debtors and MTN reacts

MTN should write the book: How make enemies and alienate customers.

What MTN is doing, is totally legal. They are not amending the terms of the contract. You are only paying more if you add bundles onto your existing contract.

So if I get it right, you effectively paying R149 for 2 gigs? Still not too bad considering Vodacom charges R149 for 1 gig.

Edit: I just bought 1 gig data from Vodacom and received 2 gig! I kid you not. So it seems that Vodacom also has the double data promotion. Awesome Vodacom.

Being slightly cheaper than the #1 ripoff isn't an accomplishment

So Im on a MyMTN Choice 2 GB Data with bolt-on voice and sms's.

According to MTN "Package inclusive deal – no impact, subscription remains the same"

So does that mean I am not affected? God I hate MTN
