Greetings everyone, I am wondering if there's anyone who is the MTN Home internet plans, if so, how is the experience so far?

I was robbed by mtn because i changed internet price plan.I bought a mtn home prepaid lte uncapped data bundle for R399 100GB fup but because my internet on the sim card didn't work after i bought small data bundles i changed data price plan and then the small data bundles work.because i changed i forfeited my R399 data bundle and i called them and they don't want to give my data back

I have a Huawei B315 router it worked in may on a different sim card but now the same sim card can't change to mtn home prepaid lte because they say it works only on new sim card but it is a new sim card and it worked before on mtn home prepaid lte

I called them yesterday to fix my internet on my sim card but nothing they did helped

The mtn R399 package was better than rain even when i downloaded a lot it was still fast in the morning hours.next time i will buy a 100GB night data with telkom for R99 and it works on any device for 30 days

Can you still get that listed in your menu (via *180#) and at that price ?

I just checked in the only Telkom SIM I have active in my router and these are the prepaid options I get, which no longer seem to include the night data (which was R149 I think at one stage, not R99 that I can remember) :

Received:Unlimited LTE
1) Unlimited All Hours 7days -R299
2) Unlimited Off Peak Hours 7days -R129
3) Unlimited All Hours 31 days -R849
4) Unlimited Off Peak Hours 31 days -R249

5) Main Menu

Received:LTE/LTE-A Bundle:
1) 3+3 R49
2) 7.5+7.5 R99
3) 10+10 R149
4) 20+20 R259
5) 40+40 R379
6) 60+60 R479
7) 80+80 R589
8) 120+120 R799
9) 220+220 R1109

10) Return to main menu

I'm not using it, but always best to get hold of a prepaid SIM, in your case for MTN, load some data and do a few speed-tests - at different times of the day / night, to judge if where you'll be using it is fast enough for your needs + the latency ("ping") acceptable - I'd say 25 - 35 ms (milli-seconds) is more than acceptable for cellular data.

Also, see if MTN load the prepaid 30 day-100GB for R229 via the app or *136#.

I still have it on mine (under "Made4U Specials"), but they seem to add it & take it away from SIM's, periodically.
I pick it up on *142# USSD code as well.

It's on *123# the 100GB night data for R99
Good to know - thanks ; I see it's under (the heading) :
Received:1) 100GB Night Surfer Promo @R99 (31 Days)

These days, think I'd rather increase my Telkom data p.m. (through Axxess) by 40 + 40 GB for R50 .... more Anytime data benefit.

I have the Huawei B618s-22d they say it's supported there.

I'll look into the Telkom one, just that when it's load shedding Telkom turns off here

The MTN speeds here are good, even Afrihost and Axxess are performing well over here

Make sure you also test during loadsheding, in my area MTN is dead during loadsheding.
The speeds are good over here, even during loadshedding, it is Telkom that has those problems over here.

That 100 GB doesn't last me enough, I've switched to the Supadata package they have a 200GB for R 349.

Then consider going for it if it's month - month (at the most) but I personally don't go for 2 or 3 year contracts with MTN / Vodacom / Telkom / Cell C.

Mine as well ; the little I get of MTN from Afrihost works fine, even during loadshedding, but from Telkom takes just over 2 hours to recover. The rest of the time, Telkom is much faster than MTN.

Hi Guys
Is there anybody in the Pretoria area that have a B618s-22d for sale?
MTN in it's infinite wisdom have messed up the config file causing the modem not to keep the settings.
I know this because their last upgrade have only MTN and Afrihost as default sevices.
So I want to accuire one to experiment and break this devilish conspiracy.

I had mine for 5 days from MTN and cancelled because of poor/no reception They still owe me R643.36 for more than a year now. Be carefull before trading with them. Would you buy a Coke from a shop that gives you 30 min to drink it else they take it back?
