MTN HSUPA here

I'm just hoping and praying the bundle prices come down

wait a minute! didn't they state a while ago they are going to charge for this faster speed and now suddenly they not going to?

So vodacom will be following suite and cancelling their subs.
I think it should be noted that Vodacom charges a subscription for HSDPA 3.6 rather than for HSUPA which is then a value add. MTN is growing its 3.6 Mbps HSDPA rollout, and when their full network is enabled it will be interesting to see if they have any subscription. MTN does however not seem to keen to increase rates...a good sign.

Thanks for clearing that up rpm am sure alot of forumites might not think of it as stated by you.

and when their full network is enabled it will be interesting to see if they have any subscription

I saw a MTN add on TV last night say that they will introduce a contract like never seen before? Did anyone else see this and/or know what this is about?

I think the date they mentioned in the add was 24 Sept...

That is what I've been working on for the last 2 weeks and next week aslo ;)
Just hold on a little longer, it will be worth it :)

Good news, I hope Vodacom is keeping an eye out. Wonder if they might consider a new profile that gives you the full upload speed but caps you at 1.8 and offer that for free?

Just a quick one, will i be able to get these speeds with my built in 3G/HSDPA Dell broadband card?

Ooh, nice.

I'm actually thinking of getting myself a 3G/HSDPA contract. I see MTN has one for R 79 pm.

Can anyone tell me how much it is per meg and If I buy a bundle if it possible to roll over the bundle to the next month(Yes I know I'm dreaming)?

Regards,

Ps. Oh, and does the USB dongle support Ubuntu?

You know that telecoms liberalisation thing? Well, I think on the 24th September MTN is going to drop a major bombshell on this "industry" we got here.

And also remember my birthday is on the 20th, considering I am the CHOSEN ONE, 4 days from the 20th must hold some relevant cosmic meaning, AND the 24th September is ALSO the release date of Magic the gathering Online's Master Edition 2 card set....

connect the dots this is going to be HUGE...

If u have the PCMCIA card can u get HSDPA and HSUPA?
