MTN launches new fixed-LTE packages

These are decent offers when compared to the other LTE packages that are currently available. I am paying R199 for 30GB anytime and 30GB night time data so the 120GB package would be an improvement if we ignore the 24 month contract or the month to month router cost!

What is the rooter? Is it a Huawei junkster?
Always better to use your own router:
Here are some good NSA approved options:
  • Cisco Meraki M67W 5G - only $642.95 for LTE version
  • HP FlexNetwork 5G
  • Netgear Nighthawk 5G - only $699.99
  • Ubiquiti UniFi 5G

Read the MTN black friday thread.

Too many billing problems. They bill the incorrect amount.

I don't trust MTN with a debit order.

Mtn goes completely offline in my area during load shedding as well.

Or get 50+50 for R199 from Cell C on prepaid.

Yes, many thanks for the suggestion! I guess I need to purchase a SIM card and load the 5+5GB package to test whether the performance is good enough for me to change from Afrihost/MTN LTE.

I'd sooner make a deal at a crossroad than sign up for night time data

Most of the deals have a 50/50 anytime/night time data split so you don't have much choice. You can use the night time data for downloads if you schedule them.

When did we last see Vodacom offering a new competitive product?
