how is thus possible s.africanz are really f***d up..

A lot of the time, the deals for their phones are less then Vodacom etc. From what I have been reading on this forum of late, a lot of people don't give a crap about service, call rates etc, they just want phones at the cheapest monthly price.

They also have a great corporate setup with a corporate discount incentive.

Not really bro. MTN have good all inclusive contracts - hard to get the same value for money on Vodacom.

MTN's cheapest anytime call rate is R1,50 (Anytime 1500) which is 50% more then CellC's. Their more affordable anytime packages have an in bundle rate of R2.30 and R2.85 out of bundle - people will still go with MTN for their cheap monthly rate on their phone.

When the MTN spokesperson says their customers are satisfied with their offerings and see no reason to compete or adjust their tarriffs its because of this. The article in this thread proves this.

Why am I not surprised. MTN offers better postpaid contracts than Vodacom. Currently on a Talk500. To upgrade with Vodacom you have to pay in a reasonable amount of money for a new smartphone. So going to port to MTN and get the Galaxy S3 for free. Another postpaid contract for MTN.

Just remember, if you think that the MTN Anytime 500 or whatever it is called is the same as the Vodacom Talk 500, you are sorely mistaken.

Sorry you are leaving though.

MTN gives the best contracts if you compare it only on the phones. Where they nail you is with the call rates. So you do not necessarily score. If you want a smart phone but does not call a lot then they're probably the cheapest. Then again, why have a fancy phone and you do not use all the features.

Yeah after having left my MTN contract finally after 10 years because of the high call rates I agree with some of you here.

But anyone who thinks mtn service is bad is seriously misinformed because thats one aspect i admire of them on contract the service is fantastic they answer the call center phones usually within a few rings only no need to wait for hours like vodacom.

Their network is quite slow for data I got on average around 500kbps even on hsdpa but coverage is pretty decent especially in more rural areas where other networks have no 3g.So while 500kbps might not be fireworks it sure does the job alot better than vodacom and cell c's edge only in those areas.

They were skittish about revealing where the stats came from, but Mitrovich said that they were industry statistics that are in general use.

So they pulled this out off their A**es and want us to believe it....

Next time don't release this kind of articles unless the company provide you with a source,in this case the sourcr is equally important....but yeah mtn post paid offeres gives better value than vodacom

I'm convinced the source is GfK, otherwise I wouldn't have written the article. This is also why I bounced it off Arthur Goldstuck first.
