MTN mum on LTE pricing

MTN is going to wait for Vodacom to launch their "4G" and then they'll just pin their price to theirs....that's how it works in SA.

Please stop these articles....unless the product is out its a useless waste of time.

That article told us nothing new. What a waste...

i suspected that they'll want to charge extra for lte ever since i heard vodacom was going to get involved in it. i'm sure that it will be "aggresively priced" with "great offerings" that they feel "adds great value" to customers.

We are ****ed unless 8ta invests in LTE or unless we all become millionaires and install our own FTTH that's if the government allows it. Basically we are ****ed.

Maybe they are still busy with it?

Surely it requires a lot of planning and implementation...

75mb a month for R75 (gotta pay extra for that speed premium), 75mb is all anybody needs

Allow me to unpack the important bit for our avid readers that have followed everything around the developments of LTE in South Africa so far...

Taukobong said that they are targeting LTE for services such as video streaming (up and down, i.e. as creator and consumer or for video chat), and P2P.

This is a costly endeavor on metered broadband, as I'm sure you're aware.

So I asked Serame if they are going to compete with ADSL in terms of pricing considering the high bandwidth services they want to enable.

In roundabout terms, he said "no", offering a reason for why not.

give me the equavalent of MWEB 2meg uncapped pricing, at the the same speed, and Ill give Telkom the boot tomorrow.

ADSL is nice, but if i need to stop online gaming, I will, I just want the same experience, without the useless line rental, 500 - 600 bucks a month at a speed between 1 and 2 meg uncapped , is fine for me .. in fact, Ill probably not do more than 100 gigs .. so even a good 100 gig 21mbps capped package at that price, has me chomping at the bit...
