MTN network crashes

Hmmm...maybe Nigeria?

It really is a problem to try and stress test new technology on a network this size. It's one thing to run a simulation for a few hundred users, but how do you simulate millions? The simulation hardware will cost more than the new technology.

Even if you could run a simulated test, it's amazing how that absolutely obvious, how did we miss it?, problem will always arise!

Agree, I've been involved in network management tools all my life and never really seen a successful simulation.
One can usually easily simulate a failure of sorts, such that a successfully failed simulation is one defined by the words "that shouldn't happen", like when a cleaner accidentally pulls out the network cable from an HLR box on Fridays - this can easily be simulated :p :D.

AFAIK the network is still taking strain,

I am doing some debt-collections (new year, new month..) and each call I initiate from my 083 number I must retry at least a couple of times before getting through -

I get a "Connection error" on my nokia screen..

I must just keep on endlessly pressing the green button to finally get a ringtone going..

Sometimes I only manage one out of 4 times !!!

As if making debt-collection calls in my spare time is not already very tedious... MTN doubles it up at this stage..

MTN doubles up my frustration..
