I have done every USSD code, every MTN app setting to disable and opt-out but no matter what I still get this crap. It makes a forced beep, makes me unlock and proceeds to freeze my phone and override any app that is currently in use.

If you close it, it then throws more menus at you.

What more can I bloody do to stop this?

That's really :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I did the same on my dads phone, turned off all marketing consent and it went quiet for a while and now its all back on. Is there an expiry date when they reset the marketing consent?

They never left!

I found some more switches to switch off in the app under 'Manage Consent"

Hey at least our Router doesn't have a speaker, or it would probably start reading out MTN adverts like bloody Alexa at this point.

I got fed up of the spam so I tossed the simcard, cancelled all of the MTN corporate contracts I maintain and replaced our security sims with Vodacom instead.

MTN lost over 50k per month in business because of their spam.

They probably lose a lot more every month, but for their network in Durban I honestly can't find anything better. Vodacom is stuck on Edge most of the time in Durban and max speed on their network was 21mbps with an upload of 2. While MTN pushes 200mbps and 66 Up and have NEVER had a dropped call or issues.

But their customer support, systems and accounts... bruh.

We're based in New Germany/Pinetown and Vodacom have excellent speeds here so it was a no-brainer.

I even saved a coupla k with their special corporate offers.

Yeah, we are based in Glenwood, which basically has 2G towers at most hahaha.

How do I stop all these popups that seem to appear after a call for various reasons - all offering a service for a fee.

When you find out, let me know!! I have opted out of everything yet still get them! Mtn are the absolute masters at spamming their subscribers!!

I thought maybe I missed one of their many many spam opt out settings but I guess not.

It's baked into the aim card as far as I know, they are immensely annoying. I used to have a MTN pop-up along with loud notification that would regularly decide to announce itself at 3am.

Search for an app on your phone called SIM toolkit, that's what managed them, sometimes uninstalling all the updates removes anything that MTN's servers are currently triggering.
