MTN Popups are back?

When you find out, let me know!! I have opted out of everything yet still get them! Mtn are the absolute masters at spamming their subscribers!!
Got this reply from MTN
Please go through to your settings then Mobile Data then SIM applications, switch off CallerXchange and Message Xpress.

I have no idea where to find these 'sim applications'... thanks all the same, will dig around and see what transpires...

I’ll check my android phone later but on an iPhone it’s in on the phone settings under mobile data.

Sweet, there's a mobile data category on Android but with limited functionality...

It seems the SIM toolkit is the sub menu where these sim applications are likely found. I can't find this sub menu on my phone and I have a sneaking suspicion that this sub menu has been removed by the custom rom I've installed on my phone. Need to check the custom rom config xml to confirm...

Mmmmmmmm...... I may have inadvertently disabled the tools required to disable the popups...?

Where? I don't see much to do about MTN anywhere on the phone if I'm being honest. Got this Oneplus on a Vodacom contract and dropped my MTN sims into it....
In my app drawer (I think that's what it is called) there's a MTN Menu app and TelkomSA Menu app (dual sim Huawei P20 lite). The icon actually resembles a sim card.

Oh wait, yeah, I have the MTN app installed...
Is it this that you refer to?

Have you found any solution to this yet @sand_man ? Just moved over to MTN and my gosh it's irritating. The spam is definitely coming form the sim toolkit app. When clicking "Cancel" on the app another screen pops up with a "why aren't you taking this offer" and 3 options "I'm poor" or "not now" or "not interested" and this screen identifies as the sim toolkit when pressing the switch apps/multitasking button.

From my experience the newer the sim the more the spam. Maybe a solution is to try find a very old unused simcard and then do a SIM swop.

Also uninstall any updates on the simtoolkit app and delete all its data.
