MTN R8.1 billion BEE transaction

There's so many BEE and BBBBEEEEEE's in that article it makes my head spin. Either its BEE or its BBBEE not both - the one makes da black bosses steenkeeng rich, the other throws a few scraps at the black wekkas while making da black bosses steenkeeng rich. Which one is it now?

But it still only benefit a select few.
 
The waiting period is 3 years after which you can trade the shares with other BEE investors.

As i've said before, "that old saying, an eye for an eye, it leaves the whole world blind", so no, it's not 'black people' but it should be 'people who were disadvantaged by the apartheid system'.

And as to the Anglo story, well, i haven't said that BBEEE is the 'right way', in fact i've spoken out about the effect this has on the corporate market.

just because the apartheid goverment done things in groups, does not mean that the problem will be solved by doing the same in groups, it could have a totally diffrent effect, and mostly on innocent people too, that is unjust.

i changed my view a bit on a few of rest of that thread, but still remains intact that BBEEE to a certain degree is just as unjust as the apartheid system itself. There is no such thing as unjust justice.

How can one trade with other BEE investors after 3 years? Which platform is used? I know about trading on the open market (JSE) but have no idea how someone will do it if there's some sort of restriction.

So if you need your cash after 3yrs, then you are at the mercy of these BEE investors that can offer you what they want!!!

Awesome!!!! I guess they are bargaining on many shareholders to sell before 6yrs.
 
How does one qualify to be 'black' ? Is that be color of one's skin ? My wife is from an disadvantaged group. She's Russian, her parents was never members of the Communist Party and the where never part of the Communist elite. Just ordinary people who also suffered in poverty because of an opprisive system. Now she lives in South Africa. Thankfully we do not live in poverty, far from it. Can she also claim BBBEEEEEE benefits because she was also member of former disadvantaged group ? But still, how on earth does this BEEEEEEE thing distinguishes who's black and who's not ? I think this BBEEEE otr whatever is silly.
Can I paint myself black ? What about if I have a light skinned tone to my skin, and I am also fluent in one of the native dark skinned languages, would I be classed as black or white ?
Suppose a (dark skinned) foreigner come to SA, does that person also qualify as being black ?
How and where would the shares be traded ? Would there be a button to click on the trading platform that you are 'black' and wanna trade with other 'blacks' ?

BBBBEEEEEEEEEEEE or whatever benefits only a few of the well connected ANC elite.
BBBBBEEEEEEE is reverse racism.
 
great... BEE is a racist doctrine... so maybe I should start throwing the kaf*** word around more... since I'm entitled to freedom of speech, just as they are entitled to massive discount "investment in the country".... my great great Grandfather was here (now Gauteng) before any black-skin....

What better way to widen the racial divide - if the soccer did anything to "bridge the gap" decisions like this just break it down. I'm so happy most of my clients are overseas where bull**** like BEE has no meaning or relevance.

Honestly,we living in different time with different people and many people thought SA will be ZIM 2.0 by now,Guess what?
We just hosted a great SWC at International Standard,right?

Is there a point when these shares will become tradeable to Non-BEE traders ... because if not ... these shares will never be worth as much as an ordinary share.
It says tradeable to BEE traders in 3 years ... when is it tradeable to Non-BEE Traders.
