maybe tower problems??? Could be area related.

Took 7 Min to come back to this page now, it's better to log off now.
This can be a tower problem because after a lot of complaints to VM about speed they managed to get CellC to contact me. CellC told me that the VC tower in our area is overloaded and that they (CellC) will start to build their own tower in a couple of weeks. MTN use this tower as well and maybe this is the problem tonight.

Vodacom and MTN are totally differently networks and subscribers from each can't use the other network, unlike Vodacom where Cell C/VM customers can roam on the network. When Vodacom/MTN use the same tower it just means they use the same physical metal structure, they still both put up their own equipment and route calls over their networks etc.

A few minuts ago my download speed was very slow and eventualy stoped altogether. I have had this problem before, so what I did is change my phone number from *99***3# to *99# and I'm flying again.
Can someone give some input here?

Irene has been dead slow the past couple of weeks. I can not see how I will be able to use my 2 Gig. I am currently downloading at 7kB/s from sourceforge.net. Previously I have achieved 70kB/s and more. Mtn seem to be very quiet about this.

For the last month, I have repeated issues with just getting a connection.
"Connection Failed" is more common in the evenings than even getting connected!

Rarely getting HSDPA speeds.

BTW, this was perfect last year up until about mid Feb.

Weird thing is that the "work" laptop with a Corporate sponsored card (E620) works perfectly on the same desk as my private laptop which barely connects (same card)

There must be a minimum service level below which this becomes legalised gambling with odds rarely in your favour.........

AT 7AM in the morning.

My guess... MTN intoduced the 2Gb package about a month ago, now everyone is downloading like crazy to use it up before it expires...

My MTN connection has also been darn slow the last two days.. :(

And now it's not just the international anymore.. local as well.. :(

They better start doing something about it..

I just switched the modem to "2G" EDGE and have much better speed - I'll use this each time the "3.5G" HSDPA bogg's down again.
