Hi all. Stroke of luck i guess for me. I am on this package and in the last 4 days I have downloaded over 100gb at speeds of up to 500 kbps. This is the first time since Ive gotten it that the speeds have been remotely so fast and that I have downloaded so much, normally I get 30gb, if i leave my pc on the entire month:)

So for some odd reason I did not get capped this month :) MTN U rock :)

May I ask, what do you download? I mean an average of say 50GB per month is totally understandable, a bit excessive but understandable, but when people mention more than 100GB I cannot other than think that you must obviously be downloading movies and series after series. Now don't get me wrong, if you PAID for said movies and series, then by all means, 100GB doesn't sound unreasonable at all but what makes my blood boil is people who steal. People who take something that doesn't belong to them. Download something they didn't pay for. And there are countless internet users who does this. Why??? These days you can very conveniently buy the original products for very good prices. I really never could and won't ever understand why anyone would bother downloading a movie or series. And if the series or movie hasn't been released yet. Then you f#cking wait until it gets released. The same goes for ANY software. If you want it, buy it, if you cannot afford it then that's just too bad.

And another thing, why do some people with uncapped internet download anything and everything that they can? Even if it's never going to be used / watched / installed / whatever the case may be. It's because of mentality such as this that we have throttled speeds in the first place.

Maybe you use it for work and need to download huge files of who knows what which is ace but for a private / home internet user, downloading 100GB + screams piracy.

Not at all, I'm just TOTALLY, and I mean TOTALLY, against piracy. Cannot stand it. I've had numerous extremely heated arguments with random people and work colleagues about this subject and well, although I feel very strongly about it, I suppose those people just doesn't give a sh#t. Unfortunately. Hopefully I'll get through to somebody, some day...

So does anyone know what happens when your contract expires? Will they convert the Uncapped to a package that's the same as your fair usage policy?

I suppose that is what all current MTN Uncapped Lite / Pro contract holders would like to know.

Anyone had connection trouble over the weekend? On Saturday morning the network light on my router stayed orange. This is the first time that that had ever happened. I couldn't connect at all. Restarting also didn't do the trick. Tried again yesterday morning, same thing. At around 10:00 I was able to connect (green light on router) but speed were extremely slow. This morning at around 04:30 I tried again and again no connection (orange light).

Well, I'm at work now and it's working fine. I just hope that it's not the tower I connect to from home that's busted.

Nuwe ding by mtn. Hulle throttle jou tot in met EDGE spoed. As jy hulle bel en vra wat gan an dan sê hulle net dat die kontrak se dat as jy gethrottle word kan die spoed tot in met 256kbps gan. So as jy 1kbps kry dan is dit nou ma so.

Ek sal defnitief nooit weer 'n MTN data kontrak vat nie. Grootste hoop bollie op aarde.
Eks nogals spuit ek het my vir 24 maande vas geteken.

I have been pretty happy with my contract. Fortunately I do not live in the city, so we dont have Telkom infrastructure, I had ADSL for 2 weeks, our lines where then stolen, then a year later our poles where removed. So I tried a couple of Wireless providers and this product has been the only one which I have had consistent service, one month I was not capped....
