Did you guys see that MTN don't offer the MTN Unlimited Lite 3G anymore???

Found out you can still get the Lite at MTN, you can call them or go to MTN direct. Also see it's not advertised in the Yello Trader anymore. But if the deal is still on when my contract ends, I'm definitely renewing my Lite contract. :D

I have checked on MTN Direct and have phoned MTN direct and it was confirmend that the lite uncapped and the uncapped pro contracts are gone. So it is now official the uncapped of MTN is gone - tata - good bye.

That's really sad news indeed. I would definitely have renewed my contract.

I wonder if they will then start offering bundles bigger than 2Gb cause MTN don't have bundles larger than that in their current offering.

Yes, I was wondering that myself. Well, I still have a little bit more than a year left with my Uncapped Lite contract and hopefully by then there will be another uncapped offering from MTN or another provider.

Just called our local mtn shop in Kathu, I can still walk in and sign a sim only contract

Probably the worst service I have ever experienced is from MTN i have about 3 calls open with them, i have had to resort to Hello Peter and even then i after 3 weeks and 3 complaints, no-one has bothered to get back to me. I also found out that the issue with my performance is because they have not reset my cap, they then tell me that i have to wait 48 hours and 72 hours later it still isn't working. MTN are such a rip off I just want to cancel my contract and get away from them ASAP

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully you can get it sorted.

I've been real happy with this contract since day one. Small hick-ups here and there but in the 10 months I've had it I really cannot complain.

So now it's 2013,

how is the MTN uncapped lite holding up these days? Considering getting it as MTN only option on farm. Have been through old messages looking for a more recent review.

Just a thought...

When your phone contract expires, MTN doesn't just cancel it themselves, they wait for you to cancel it. This happened to me with 2 of my contracts over the years where they said "we wait on you to cancel..."

So with that thinking when my MTN Lite uncapped cotract expires, i'll simply just let it run and not cancel until they day they feel like calling me to tell me and knowing MTN they'll most probably never call:whistling:

If that's the case then i'll go with with the cheapest adsl available cos i do have a landline but didnt wana go adsl route (bit expensive at the time)

Anyway i got a little over 13 months left on my uncapped lite contract... lets see what happens in that 13 months from MTN's side:(

I managed to get out of my MTN Uncapped Lite contract as I took it through @lantic who transferred the remaining duration to another sucker/client.

The contract was great in the first 5-6 months I had it. Then the problems started. It would disconnect at least twice a day when previously I could stay connected for a month at a time. So I would leave it to download something for me before leaving for work. When I get home it would have disconnected about an hour after I left and thus not downloaded much. Same thing happens at night before I go to bed. Start a download, only to discover I lost connection an hour or so after falling asleep. As usual I was told the problem was me or my hardware/software.

The past month my Speedtest.net result show download of about 0.15mbps and 0.10mbps upload. Ping over 2000ms when there is just the speedtest browser open. For about a year it was bearable but now I am fed up. Been waiting a week now for them to come back to me regarding a ticket i opened.

Just go myself out of the crappy 8ta on my ipad now this! *pulling out the last remaining strands of hair*
