A strange issue for the clever people on here: :D

The setup: partitioned hdd XP Pro on one side, fully up to date. Vista Ultimate on the other partition, also fully up to date. Using Nokia E90 which has built in HSDPA up to 3.6megs/sec. Phone software up to date and latest Nokia PC suite installed. the phone has the latest 3G sim card.

The Problem: On Vista, the phone downloads only for a few seconds then i'm disconnected from the MTN network that the connection icon in the task tray shows 'local only' I have been watching this for 2 months now ( frustratingly) and have noticed and, now proven, that it will only kick me off the MTN connection if the download speed go's above +- 2.8 megs/sec. I have a speed meter installed. (PS. it spikes and sometimes!!!!! holds 3.2megs/sec for about 30 seconds  ) the data cut off is immediate and not a gradual decline in speed. windows std firewall is off. Antivir free A/V and std Vista spyware programs fully up to date and running.

The twist in the tale : When using XP Pro, same phone, pc, connection, same antivirus program, same location, ie: just using XP not Vista, download same file from same location on the internet, max speed is 1.1 to 1.6 megs/sec and its constant with no disconnection.

I have spent too much time on the phone to MTN and Nokia. Everyone has a different solution, and none of them work. I have had to buy a download manager for Vista so as not to loose any partial downloads when it disconnects me. I get between 1 and 5 megs per session ... ie: downloading the latest itunes program required 9 download session restarts.... on XP side, I downloaded the latest NVidia drivers without any disconnections

Any constructive help, critisism, solutions will be greatly appreciated.
PS. I have good signal strength and am 'line-of-sight' to a tower.
