Which is better? Please state reason.

[Admin, pls post poll]

I say Vodacom because i haven't had many problems with them the last time i spoke on a MTN phone i just about lost it cause the line was worse then my Telkom line, now thats saying something!!!

Who gives you the phone you want at the best price on a package that suits you? I have no loyalties and was initially with MTN, then shifted to Vodacom for two upgrade cycles (4 years) and am now back with MTN. They do not reward me for loyalty so I move where I get the best deal.

I personally have had no issues with MTN reception, signal, data speeds etc. And in saying that I had none with Vodacom either. Follow the deals I say...

mtns 80 million are counted as south africa as well as africa and middle east, how many mtn subscribers in sa? im sure not nearly as much as vodacom

Those include all of MTN's African subscribers. Vodacom has been prohibited from operating in parts of africa until recently.

vodacom 34 million customers and growing cant all be wrong

Um, and out of interest how would these arguments affect the fact that my post was in response to your original post Raxton? It is still a reflection of the success of the network, which is what your post of the number of Vodacom subscribers was attempting to do surely....

And out of interest the South and East Africa region contributed 28 percent of that figure.

The visualisation of lemmings comes to mind too when using the argument... ;)

EDIT : And to those who felt most chuffed in pointing out that the figure included subscribers outside Africa as if I was unaware, I did read the article I linked to! :)

At the moment MTN seem to have way better phones & contract deals..

Changed to MTN in Feb this year, was gatvol of the incompetance of all the vodacom shop's staff in my area. Poor upgrades, phones being promised and not arriving, general rudeness etc.. MTN on the other hand were a pleasure.

But now I have some network problems with mtn, GPRS/3G non existant at night and random sms delivery failure.

So I guess its MTN's good phones for less, better customer service but poor quality network. Vodacom crap phones that cost more but better network.

50/50

my point still stands vodacom have more customers in south africa than mtn do forget africa there is not much of a choice in cellular companies in africa so yeah mtn would rule there, however 34 million is way more than mtn in this country
