MTN VU shutting down

They didn't capture enough VU'ers .

/too soon..

Waiting to see now what this DEOD is all about.

DEOD is expected to offer sports and premium entertainment for a monthly subscription fee of under R200.

Hmm, wonder what sport this is? Probably under 11 cricket matches :D

Now the question is if the other service will be deod on arrival or make it in the market....

Couldn't resist :)

@MickZA , same, i signed up too. Already off to a poor start in terms of marketing. :erm:

Whatever happened to Vodacom's announced On Demand service?

Supposedly launching(?) on the 4th, I'm on their mailing list but I've heard squat since signing up - not even a welcome email

There's a media launch event on that day, so it's definitely happening.

Likely they'll send out mail blasts to people who signed up when they've made the official announcement.

Well I warned MTN on their facebook page, they need to get their act together, and stop adding cancelled shows.MTN's reply was, well we can't make any promises that shows that we add will not be cancelled in future.

Then politely pointed out, well this and this shows was cancelled in 2009 5 years before your service even started, MTN didn't bother to reply, plus their device support was horrendous, plenty of excuses as to why it will not work on this or that tablet, one particular excuse I liked was that studio's forced them to use the latest android versions.

Politely pointed out Neflix, HBO, and various other VOD services not requiring nor applying a one android version to rule them all.
It's harde gat customer service, and not using customer feedback to their advantage that cost them, even with zero rated data on their network they were not able to stay afloat, ****ty business plan from MTN, and Discover Digital.
