MultiChoice launches DStv Internet with MTN

These are just LTE data packages without the subscriptions for access to DSTV channels? All I want is Cricket and Rugby at a reasonable cost. I have been completely priced and I no longer follow these sports.

I don't remember that ever being a thing, but that sounds super interesting.
Can you find any official mention of that? I can't seem to.
Can't remember what it was called, nor can I find any refrence to it now either, I'm actually surprised there is't a thread about it here.

It was a 56k dial-up modem that included a transparent blue infrared keyboard to read and send TV-mail.

That was a product too, but I remember it was faster than 56k, I asked my dad to get it since he thought "ADSL is expensive".

Was that with the thing that let you order food through dstv I remember browsing menus for chow
Don't recall this

Yes, friend outside Clanwilliam had it. It was a bit slow and there was a lot of lag
Do you remember what it was called?

Would like to know too.

The only thing faster than 56Kb/s dial-up at the time was ISDN at 64Kb/s, or 128Kb/s if you bonded two channels.

ISDN never really got traction in the residential market, and after that ADSL was introduced.

My 2 most hated companies teaming up to provide a service I don't want, lucky me..

but it's a 24 month contract.
Which they'll stop selling in the next year.

This was pre 2000. It used a 56k modem as uplink and the satellite as downlink. It was on the same IS20 satellite but not a Multichoice product. It's somewhere in my PCFormat "books".
