MultiChoice says DStv password crackdown is working

Just find a few subscribers in other load shedding areas and get their passwords, watch what you want on DSTV while their power is off.

If you pick well you should have access around the clock, still no need to subscribe at all.

I pay nearly R1000.00 a month for a Premium subscription plus 'Dual View.'
When there is load shedding only one of us can stream on a tablet or computer.
Do you call this service?
This is a blatant rip-off.
While I understand the business model of password sharing, surely DSTV can find another way to enable my 'Dual View' subscription to be watched, after all, this is 'Technology'.

Vote with your wallet and cancel the subscription.

Just cancel and move on with your live.

They presumably expect all of you to congrate around a tiny screen, lol

They're also encouraging piracy. But they're too stubborn to realise

“After we limited the number of [concurrent] streams, we have seen an uptick in the take-up of DStv as some of those people who were given passwords [of existing subscribers] came on board,” said Shiburi
I'm curious to know how they determined this. Is there a questionnaire you answer when you sign up as to why you signed up, or are DSTv just painting new signups with a brush that most suits their narrative?

You are scaring premium customers away at the same time.
That's definitely working too.

People paid for Premium which came with 2 streams.
You changed the rules but not the PRICE.

Screwing the customers and calling it a success. There is a reason why none of the mayor streaming players will implement such a draconian measure...
