Muslim medical students boycotting lectures on evolution

Why don't these Muslims go to Iran or wherever so they don't have to deal with science and can continue believing their fairy tales.

Because moslem countries cannot give them the education the west can.

I agree, no attendance, no pass. Evolution is one of the reasons that they cant just sommer cure the HIV/AIDS virus. In fact, it plays an important part in viruses and bacteria (such as super resistant bacteria).

These people are going to do more harm than good.
 
If you believe in religion, you should not even be ALLOWED to study in a science or medical faculty at ANY university in the world.
 
I am still puzzled that there are people out there who refer to themselves as intelligent and yet believe a fairy tale story of Adam and Eve, it's a shame really. No wonder the world is not moving forward.
 
If you're studying medical journals that have been peer reviewed for decades, why the need to be taught evolution?

Those same medical journals will mention evolution a million times. IE, When you give a patient that is not sick antibacterials - bacteria in that body can build up a resistance to antibodies (via evolution!).

So yah, if you dont understand evolution you will simply be assisting in the spread of super-resistant bacteria. Thats just one small example in an entire field. Heck, even cancer and its treatment involves understanding evolution.

Also good luck to these doctors trying to explain to patients why the vaccine they're getting only protects them against some types of the virus and not others without involving evolution.

"you see what happens is Allah sends these little yellow pixies to shield these particular viruses when they enter your body so that despite having got this vaccine your immune system doesn't work against them. What? Evolution of the virus? No that is just plain ridiculous it is definitely down to the yellow Allah pixies".

Absolutely not, the spelling Moslem was the accepted form prior to the 1980's, if its the case that many older people are more conservative and dislike muslims/moslems more that the younger generation then that may provide aid to your correlation. Many older people still use the word 'Mohammedaner'. Have a further look at the comments further down on that page where actual muslims chime in saying they themselves sometimes spell it moslem.

And why exactly is it so wrong to slur the muslim religion? Islam is not a race, it is a conscious decision to believe in a particular stone age mythology. Much like I might call christians 'Xians' or 'Jebus lovers'. Or scientologists 'batsh*t insane'.

Religion does not get a free pass regarding its craziness.

Provided they aren't as doctors required to explain to patients why vaccines aren't 100% effective. Otherwise their education is going to be insufficient.

Not so sure on that. When my wife was in Manila she taught many Iranian dentists in her class (she lectured medical students for a while). Seems like if they have money they go study abroad.
