Mweb 384 kbps Uncapped Unshaped or Mweb 512 kbps Uncapped Shaped?

Hi guys...I was thinking about upgrading form my capped Mweb ADSL and I was wondering which is better: A Unshaped 384 Kbps or a 512 kbps Shaped? I download using P2P and DC++ but I also do HTTP downloading from time to time. Also, any experiences with Mweb Uncapped would be welcome. Thanks a bunch!

technically if you download from P2P you should get unshaped to avoid the crappy 1kb/s downloads some people get with the shaping.
As for HTTP at most the unshaped will give is about 45kb/s and the uncapped 512 can give you about 100kb/s...

so the question is, do you want a constant 45kb/s of not so constant 100kb/s?

HTTP is unshaped on mweb i think so that shouldnt give you such a problem!

Dont you mean +-42kB/s on a 384 and +-50kB/s on 512k line ?

How the hell do you come up with 100kb/s ?

I am on the 512 kbps uncapped with MWeb and to be honest it is the biggest waste of money. I am not downloading hundreds of gigs, I think the most I have DOWNLOADED is about 52gigs, a couple of months back. The most I have uploaded is about 15 gigs. The throttling that MWeb is applying to p2p is seriously overdone. Yes I do understand cutting back during the day, but to speeds of under 1kB/s is overkill. I am investigating other avenues now as this is no t what I signed up for. Shaping - yes but throttling to death - no. I havent come up with a solution just yet, but I am sure there are other alternatives which are not as frustrating. I am not about to download the internet, I just want to download the things i watch and I am sure that wont come to much more than 60Gigs a month. My advice, dont go for the 512kbps shaped and uncapped-- it is a waste. Sorry to say!!

384 uncapped is fine. It is a waste to pay the extra cash for the platry 15 or so more kbs 512 gives you.
That is assuming you are on a budget.
You are not going to see much difference between the two downloading p2p.
HTTP is another story but again not much in the way of gains.
Go for the cheaper option :wtf:
