MWEB 384kbps, uncapped, shaped. Is it worth it?

I'm using Mweb 384. I don't use torrents, but I do often download mainly form IT sites and my downloads normally run at between 30kB and 40KB which is as much as my line can produce.

I normally pause or download youtube before viewing.

In a nutshell it does all I need. I also believe that Mweb has covered its bases with bandwidth from various underseas suppliers.

I previously tried 3 different IS based ISP's and in all cases my download speed dropped to around 10kb - something you really don't wish to suffer.

Well at one time the service was going down every month, usually on a Friday. I hope that's improved at least.
A 384 line is well capable of around 44 kb.s. Mweb never went at full line speed for me EVER.

Maybe I should take the leap too. It was never needed before, but standard uncapped is crappy these days.

Wow... that is pretty bad. Guess the 384 uncapped shaped service is a bit useless.

Oh and that is with Openweb, that's suppose to be better than Mweb (used to be anyway).

Gold is R258 till the 22nd. Only reason I haven't signed up yet is the private info they need and me being paranoid (and it's debit order only).

You might was well get Cybersmart Night Rider then, you get 15GB int unshapped + 384k line rental + uncapped from 1am to 8am every month, you can do 40GB easy all for R300 per month

my friend did 100gb+ on 384 account , he use ssl to get full speed 24/7.

i get full speed on http my 512 and news servers, im currently 62kbs+ on my 512k account(4mb line, getting 4mb account later today), from mweb news servers.
