MWEB ADSL pricing comparison

R300 - 30gb international + 300gb local, line rental included. that's what i call value =)

I learned something very useful from the table! At last it has become clear to me when "data" becomes "bandwidth". If your cap is less than 5Gb it is called data, and if it is 5Gb or more it is bandwidth. Thanks RPM

"free" bandwidth at certain prices.

Yup, Telkom's 3GB deal is smacking them in the nuts.

I'm :
- getting Telkom's 3GB deal = R149 (call 10215)
- throwing in a 1GB WebAfrica (0861 555 222) unshaped for playing WoW = R125 (OUCH! This had better be worth it!)
- have a 10GB local-only from Axxess (0861 300 900) that I am still slowly using up = R120.

It's such a pity that Telkom don't give you a way to directly access your local-only part of the package. (e.g. With another login) That would make them the best ever.

ADSL customers can choose between two Booster options once their data cap has run out.

1. Pay Per MB. Pay only 20c for each MB you use. New ADSL users are automatically set to use this option.
2. 1 Gig Boosters. Buy in bulk, R99 per 1.5 Gig or R250 per 3.5 Gig. Unused Boosters are carried over to the next month (the carry over is only valid for one month).
That underlined part is freaking daylight robbery!

This option is ONLY enabled when you use MWeb's web facilities to enable it.

but ...

At 20c a MB the poor customer will be paying R204.80 per GB, the most expensive ADSL in the country.
This "option" is nothing short of robbery, and seems to be flat-out designed to catch the unwary customer.

MWEB ..

I will not be sending any business your way.

Do any of those prices include ADSL line rental?

Hmm, so even with this drop M-web remains the same or more expensive than most other providers. No surprise there.

Despite the annoiuncement of increased caps, if you look at your ADSL stats on MWEB you will see they remain unchanged. Mine for example still indicates my cap for Sept is 3 Gb as opposed to the announced new cap of 5 Gb.

Get your unshaped 1GB from fnbconnect for R69

Too true

I have sent "smoke-signals" I hope they know how to read them :D

We really need to get beyond this nonsense
We need one shot twenty gig end of story.
Set up that local proxy -- all local traffic gets re-directed to the local proxy all international goes out the normal way.
No need for dual logins

Come on SAIX -- have you guys run out of brain cells :erm::D
