R10... Wtf.
To anyone that wants to start whining; Tell you what, walk an extra 10km a month and save a litre of petrol - that will save your piddly monthly budget if you're that stretched for R10... Ffs. Lol
Nothing on data? For shame MWEB, did the loss of Rudi Jansen make you guys lose touch with your customer base?
short memories...What do you mean? Data price was already cut since first of June...
ok, I just went to MWEB page for an all inclusive 1 meg option. According to the prices released recently a 1 meg line will cost you 165.00(not sure if vat is included) at telkom and the MWEB uncapped stand alone option is 199. The All Inclusive package is 488.00. Now I suppose with the upgrades that will mean a 2 meg line, but this makes no sense as I can pay telkom the 165(188.10 if vat is not included) line rental and get the 199 uncapped 1 meg from MWEB for cheaper than the all inclusive package of 488.

Yeah small for gotten fact because the article reads like price increase !!! R10 price increase !!!
South Africans really do have deep pockets, all of a sudden it's just a paltry R10 increase and the majority of complaints are about difference between speeds and yes admittedly the future pricing of packages now that 384K is a gonna.I thought PRICES were supposed to come DOWN,how can we talk about barriers to entry in fixed line broadband when the norm is to increase the damn prices every year?
That's what i'm talking about.![]()
What a stupid article. We all know that there are 2 changes coming so why only chat about the one? The R10 is old news already.
Release 2Mb uncapped pricing packages!!
Perhaps I can clear this one up for you
As soon as Telkom roll out the line speed changes 384k Uncapped All Inclusive will effectively become 1mb Uncapped All Inclusive at the announced price point of R339-00.
Telkom have also announced that they will be upgrading all current 1mb lines to 2mb, this means that existing 1mb Uncapped All Inclusive customers (currently paying R488-00), will have their line speeds increased to 2mb.
These packages will however not automatically be increased to 2mb Uncapped as we are still in the process of finalizing the pricing and deployment of a 2mb uncapped product on our systems in preparation for this change.
Essentially the choices you will have available when the time comes though is to move up to a 2mb All Inclusive Uncapped bundle (pricing to be announced), or if it suits your budget more to move your line back down to 1mb and stay on the 1mb bundle at the new price point of R339-00.
Thanks for clearing that up! So will mweb inform current subscribers once we can switch over?
