MWeb blocking MTN VoWiFi connectivity

Does anyone know if MTN's wifi calling works overseas? I haven't been overseas since I started using WIFI calling, but I'm guessing it probably doesn't.

They don't offer a WiFi roaming service to my knowledge.

An ISP has to get MTN to whitelist their IP Subnet's used/handed out to CPE devices/clients.
I had to jump through hoops, to get MTN to whitelist my Subnet's for my Clients to be able to use MTN WiFi Calling.
Vodacom, Cell C and Telkom don't block any subnet's or have a 'Whitelist' for VoWiFi

Do you have any specific contact details

The thing is international roaming has nothing to do with WIFI calling, or rather it shouldn't. If you're connected via WIFI then you're connected via WIFI, shouldn't matter what country you're in.

Off MTN's site

I've not had any issues with MTN WiFi on a number of different public Wifi hotspots and Telkom.
Why they are blocking a
ISP that sells their ( MTN ) Data products puzzles me.

Using Starlink in the middle of the ocean - MTN wifi calling fails to even try to connect saying " mobile network not available"
Telkom works 100% so i guess the overseas answer is probably no.
Starlink bouncing thru Nigeria ground station.

I use it abroad all the time, works no problem.

I'm currently in Somalia and MTN has no roaming agreements with the mobile operators here, WiFi calling works fine and I get local SA rates. I can even use "Wi-Fi" calling when outside my compound with a local sim card in slot 2.

How do i get my Subnets ?

So my MTN WiFi calling finally working on MWeb.
I'm not sure right now who initiated the fix as I've been pilling on the pressure with both parties.

Congratulations on successfully persuading MWEB to enable WiFi calling. I tried to achieve a similar outcome with Ballito ISP, but they were only willing to provide me with a fixed IP at an additional cost. This would require me to coordinate with MTN separately to have my IP address whitelisted.

You could always try routing it through a VPN... that should also work in theory

Vodacom: 41.1.162.233 (epdg.epc.mnc001.mcc655.pub.3gppnetwork.org)
Cell-C: 41.50.128.53 (epdg.epc.mnc007.mcc655.pub.3gppnetwork.org)
Mtn: 41.208.50.116 and 41.208.50.117 (epdg.epc.mnc010.mcc655.pub.3gppnetwork.org)
Telkom: 41.246.191.254 (epdg.epc.mnc002.mcc655.pub.3gppnetwork.org)

Ports: 4500 & 500 (udp), 143 (tcp)

You could implement the VPN at router level, or even simply install the vpn app on your phone. Cloudfare warp is a good (and free!) one that should work - and if you use something like Warp, you won't need to worry about configuring any of these IP's/ports, just enable the VPN and everything should start working on its own...

Have just tested on Cloudfare Warp - No luck. VPN open to Warp but does not show WiFi Calling.

Ah okay, darn. Maybe try toggling the wifi calling on/off, after enabling the VPN?
Otherwise we may need to try other VPN providers in that case. In theory, with the right VPN, it should start working.
Alternatively, someone manages to persuade MTN to allow connections from Cloudfare's ASN prefix list, then this can be a workaround for anyone regardless of their ISP

Still no luck, perhaps someone else can also test to confirm my findings.
