We have 3 Mweb accounts (all uncapped) in Cape Town. I've noticed that, as of yesterday, Skype sessions, SSH connections etc keeps dropping and coming back up. Anybody else have the same problem?

Yeah I have been having the same issue with MSN actually and Skype. Also Origin has been cycle disconnecting. This is in Durban.

One of our clients are experiencing exactly this. They are connecting to a centralizes server hosted by Afrihost. Obviously we are getting the full force of their frustrations.

I just pm'ed Mweb gut to check out this thread. Maybe you guys can post some more details

Hope that if there were changes or current network issues, someone can just let us know, we don't mind the issues, as long as we can confirm something

Hi colin87

We do have a Network notice board, which informs our customers of any issues: http://www.mweb.co.za/helpcentre/NetworkStatusNotices.aspx

We have made no Network changes that will have a negative impact on our customer base.

From what I read in the post it is happening with MWEB and other ISP accounts, which says that it's possibly not ISP related.

@ruan567 please provide me with your clients MWEB account details and I'll look into a few things for you. Please keep in mind, I cannot divulge sensitive info as you are not the account holder.

We are testing a free Web Africa account at the branch, and they are flying now.

So whether it is Mweb network related, or just that their uncapped service that is slow or being throttled, I don't know.

@MwebGuy - sent you a PM. We are still experiencing the same problem, it is even worse now.

Hi All, we are currently having slow international Browsing & email due to a SEACOM link failure. We are running on alternative WACS capacity. We apologies for any inconvenience during this time. Our Engineers are currently looking into it.
Thank you for your patience during this time.

Still having problems with Skype, Anyone else still experiencing same issues?

Good Morning All,

Please note that I have escalated the problem with Skype to our network Team and I am awaiting feedback. I will provide you with more information when I receive a response from them.

Well my MSN still thinks it's a Jack Russel going on and Off line. Any feedback on this Mweb Guy? Just annoying to see my msn disconnect and then reconnect a few seconds later. Only started happening a week or two ago.

Hi All

As mentioned earlier, this is with our networking team. Once I have more information, I will provide you with feedback.

Hi All

Could you please test Skype again and let me know if you are still experiencing issues.
