MWEB ... err... WTF?!?

whine whine whine moan moan moan its all you people on this forum do. Threads are a bore to read, because everythings the same. Bitching and moaning about some or the other, or some form of nerd rage towards a fellow forumite. It's pathetic really. MyBB should be change to MyMoanPage.

I don't expect a YouTube movie to be 'loaded' in 5 seconds, but while watching it, it plays for not even 1 second, buffers, plays for not even 1 second then buffers and I had no downloads or anything going.

What I normally do is play the movie, then pause it and let it 'download' then play it - I can't even do that, I watch the meter fill so slowly... really, we talking 56k slow, that's how bad it is.

And what was that? Sounded like some good moaning right there.

Odd youtube video's are flying, nzb's crawling but i do not mind i pulled an 11gb hd movie yesterday and have some stuff lined up for tonight.

Everything is running so fast this morning, web pages loading incredibly fast, watched some hot chick stretching on youtube 360p with no problems :D.

I'm on a local IS account right now and I'm downloading at 30kb/s from the local news server, so maybe the problem isn't Mwebs side.

I'm loving these threads moaning about the shaping during business hours. Unless you've always been using an Unshaped account, when HASN'T the daytime internet been slow?

I don't think you thought through your statement. It smacks of a lack of understanding on how and why boards like this exist. :) Try again J0n0! :D

Guys if MWeb gets flooded remember that there are going to be 2 other large networks you can move to to spread the load. That is Vox(via @lantic) and IS(via IS). I doubt MWeb will handle all the downloaders but when the other two start getting used as well then all the services should run just fine. Oh and don't forget the devil(Telkom) later in the year.

This is what happens when people go ape and try to download the internet.

This is what happens when a company has insufficient backbone infrastructure and cannot accommodate all it's users, they shape the hell out of it so some traffic becomes almost unusable ;) A nice average would be 33% drop when shaping is applied but not down to a hamster piddle as some people are experiencing.

from what i read here:

seems like a hamster piddles faster, though i do say give them a week or 2. you did all jump on them at the same time

Not really sure what you mean, everything is running 100% this side. Obviously torrents/nzb's rapidshare will all be throttled during the day. Maybe a 384 line sometimes struggles with google

Yeah but it's not going to change much until LLU happens. IPC costs prohibit network expansion on the scale that is required to provide a decent QoS.

People, I'm not arguing with anyone, just explaining why things appear the way they are.
