MWEB Gaming Feedback

I logged in just now and my ping is 250 ms worse than during the day, so for me the up in priority did work in a sense(from 20 000ms to 500-600ms), but I only logged in and did not do dungeons etc etc

Yeh true, the symptoms being described on the WoW forums looks like its probably part of the problem.
Btw, dunno if this extra info will help, but 2 weeks prior to the patch the lag also only started at 6pm'ish.
Soz im just getting frustrated, been a month without being able to play (i mostly play during the night) and it was so good before.

Thing im thinking is, battleping has to be doing something right to circumvent the issue...I dont know what exactly a tunneling service does "playing on their 20 min trail" but whatever it does, its working...

I've just finished going through this thread:

http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=14870321155&sid=1&pageNo=1

Customers, from Virgin Media ,O2 and BE in the UK, who all seem to have the same issue have posted here. So far I haven't seen any definite solutions or workarounds - some are claiming success using a TCP Optimization application, which might be worth trying if anyone is ok with making those types of changes. Unfortunately the Blizzard reps are not being very forthcoming in their feedback and don't seem to be acknowledging that they've introduced anything different to the traffic, or offering any advice to affected customers as to what their ISPS can do to address this.

I will keep looking from my side and discuss this with our engineers again tomorrow to see if we can come up with a workaround for this.

I tried the optimization method in that thread this past weekend and the latency went from like 10k to 9k lol, didnt really do anything apart from closing the ports you need to login to the EA server for battlefield. So not a solution at all.

Guys, thats all good and well, but what about the fact that for some of us (including me) its started 2 weeks BEFORE the patch. Also, why exactly the same time from 6pm till 8am.
Your also forgetting about the fact that IF it is from blizzard's side and new patch related, why does guildwars do the same?

In conclusion, i believe our issues arent related to what they are experiencing. Some of those complains are even realm specific, which is not the case for mweb users.

Edit: oh yeh, and the fact that a tunneling service called "battleping" bypasses the issue.

+1 Its not only with the new patch, it was way before the patch aswell, so please dont blame it on the patch.

last night my ping was better than what it used to be, but still worst than during the day when it is suppose to be lower priority.....but for some this issue occurred with GW as there was stated already, so i dont think its the patch but i would not rule it out....

Cant we get the admins to ban the trolls in this thread and get it back on topic?

On topic : Will is trying his best to figure it out, i have been in contact with him in PM trying to sort out the issues. I was the first to bring up this 6pm-8am latency issue. We have been checking out some options and he recently told me the network team is on it. It does not seem to be a shaping issue.

With my very limited technical experience, i would assume it can be some routing issue. Lets have the professionals look at it (aka their network team) and be patient. At least this is happening in an "off period" of wow before the expansion, u can start qq'ing extensively if the network is still like this in December. This being said, we are paying for a service that has gone to #($* in the last few weeks, but im confident they will sort it out.

Please continue this thread with constructive comments like when you experience the issue, tracerts of when it happens and which tunneling service, if any, u are using.

FYI, I normally like trolling, but not in this thread.

People will QQ as much as they want, contrary to popular belief people are actually still raiding.

@Will the delivery system has NOTHING todo with the latency, if you are playing a game with a 4mbp line(in this country like 2mb). And the streaming is using majority of the bandwidth you will lag period. However if you wait until the patch is fully downloaded, and you still lag its couple of things.

A. ISP
B. Blizzard Hosting (doubtful)
C. Routing
D. Packet loss
E. Exchange

Raiding with with lag of well over 1kms? Oh really? Let me know how that works out for you...If people are indeed raiding they are doing it on other accounts.

....and just when I thought the trolls went away -_-

Dont presume to think you know everything. I have a friend who is using mweb, some nights its good, some nights extremely bad. i.e. last night he had 300ms (with lowerping)

Furthermore he was insinuating because cataclysm is near that people wont be raiding.. perhaps read before typing.

Mweb is just BS us here, they have timers or something that throttle us when 6PM starts, now they blame it on the new wow patch.. what BS i ever heard Mweb tells me, and i had this same problem before the patch went live.. so keep on BS me thanks.

Mweb is not designed for gamers, and it will never be. They have always had there business clients at heart which is all good.

Seriously can mod please BAN these 2 from this forum? I for one am sick and tired of seeing there posts.

Realy? Even well they do gaming themself they dont support gamers something... strange, and btw when i first got uncapp from mweb everything was running smooth without hickups, why would they all of a sudden cut us to njoy gaming? thats not how service works.

Why would you want us get banned this forum is for us to give feedback, and this is what we do..

But too many other WoW players on European servers are experiencing the same problem. Sure, it is most probably due to ISP shaping rules, but if Blizzard have changed something in their latest patch that causes their gaming traffic to appear like bittorrent, then they need to undo it. It is not just MWeb that shapes bittorrent. I'm not saying that is definitely the reason, but this problem is not just on Mweb, but I also appreciate their efforts to solve the problem.

oh shutup djstyles its a freedom of speech space. We are not breaking any rules.

@Shirou - because when the uncapped first came about it wasnt so wide spread, increased advertising, increased exposure. Increase in user base, decrease in network availability. Throttling on none priority ports

The thing is, why was my latency so high on 3.3.5 aswell with mweb? And as soon as when i change ISP's i get awesome Latency without a problem before the patch and now with the latest.

P.S And its not just me i have 4 other friends with the same problem.

Eish, well i hope it can get sorted or for Mweb to unplug the timers they have from 6PM :P

I don't have to know anything besides what my personal experience with the connection/account shows me. and besides , scroll up and you'll see 99% of the ppl that post here agrees/have the same experiences with their Mweb uncapped accounts. If you have a "friend" on mweb , why isn't he posting here instead of you? Aren't you getting tired of trolling already? I agree with DJstyles, can a mod/admin please remove the trollers from this thread?

point in case. This is a thread for GAMERS what are you doing here? Stop trolling ffs.
