MWEB Gaming Feedback

Lol yeh, it WAS ALWAYS FINE. Nothing to do with during the day shaping or something stupid like that.
Im on Win7 freaker, its not your windows. Trust me its not. Dont even bother reinstalling or installing something else to rule it out. This is an ISP issue.

Edit: Bad during the day now too. Patch didnt do anything and i guess i was just hoping for the best, but why would the patch do anything anyway? :( Seeing as with all the other ISP's in SA its fine.

Why do people think its a problem with us, but other ISP's work fine...

process of elimination ... the more we know what isn't the problem the closer we are to finding the problem but your right chances of it being the a OS prob is slim , just getting desperate to find the solution.

NOT TRYING TO 9/11 THIS THREAD,BUT...

I've been reading this thread, and most of you are talking about the same game.

One question please, and I'm totally IT illiterate:wtf:

I do online gaming on the Wii( it mos uses WiFi), I mostly play Call of Duty World at War, and Call of Duty Modern warfare, and also for the past week or 3 Ive been getting connection interruptions, and disconnection from the server, with the od lagging.
All of this after 20H00.

Last night was totally unplayable(21H00-23H30). That's when I stripped and hopped on the internet to search, and this is were I ended up:D

Is this the same problem you are talking about, or should I start a new thread?

Thanx

S

Just an update on the WoW situation gents

I just created a new Character on Lightbringer, and had in game latency of between 350-550ms at the same time I was standing next to one of my staff who was experiencing latency of between 2500 and 5000ms.

I will run further tests tonight, moving through the various realms that have been mentioned here to see if I can replicate the high latency and get a first hand look at what might be causing it.

Will, problem is, when creating a new character on a new realm your in game latency looks good for quiet some time. I would suggest borrowing someones account with high level toons on multiple realms if possible.

try stormscale please, heavy populated realm(have q to log in at night), go stand in orgemar or dalaran :)

Getting 350-400ms ping on all of my level 80's. Been in Dalaran, UC, Badlands, TB, Orgri, and the Barrens today.

@bullzeye are you using any tunneling service?

I've seen it myself now. Standing idle in the street in Stormwind on Lightbringer with a level 1. latency was around 500ms when I logged in. Tabbed out to check something and when I came back it was 5000+.

I have captured traffic both when the latency was normal and when it went through the roof. Let's see what the network boys make of it.

Sorry Will but... Thank God... you've seen it too

I'm going to play around with a few more scenarios here and try some other realms as well. We know from the WTFast and Battleping feedback that this seems to bypass the issue so we are going to try and set up some partial tunnels to bypass portions of our network to see if we can isolate where the latency is being introduced. Theres a fair amount of logistics involved in doing this so please bear with us, it might take a few days to come up with any results from this.

Hi Skurf

We are trying to isolate a problem that's affecting World of Warcraft players specifically. I really know very little about how multiplayer works over the Wii so you are going to need to help me out with some information in terms of where the servers are hosted and so forth. Also you should make sure that you haven't had any problems introduced into your own environment if you are using the Wii over a WiFi connection.

Kind Regards
Will

Thanks Will, shall scratch around on the net.

Any chance of leaving them there afterwards? xD

That would be pretty uber if we had ISP tunneling, no more latency issues! :P

Also, once again, thanks for all the effort Will, it is not going unnoticed and I feel that MWEB is setting itself up to become THE dominant ISP in the market (well, it already is I think) but even more so. Till then, I still have my backup ISP giving me awesome ingame latency (which was absolutely rocking tonight, Clareinch problem seems to be solved now and running like a beast!).

At this stage I'm afraid not, although I think it would be a great service for us to offer. :)

Personally i would love it if we could get to the point where we don't just have the best uncapped product around, but that we also are the gaming ISP of choice and 'backup' accounts are a thing of the past. the Clareinch experience for the last few days has been a pleasure. my graph yesterday showed an average latency of 38ms. I'm still waiting in great anticipation for my friends at Telkom to give me some formal feedback on what they fixed and if it's permanent.

Hey guys,

have a few days leave next week, any suggestions for best ISP to get a 1GB package from, to use for WoW atm?
