Regarding the performance issues for Call of Duty: Black Ops server browser and stats updates, we are in the process of isolating the setup of the COD master servers, that provide this information, to make sure that this international connection enjoys the same premium handling that we try to put in place for all international gaming-related traffic shares. We will try to have some changes in place this afternoon and will be monitoring the performance during the course of the evening.

We have also contacted our partners at Gameservers.com to see if they can provide us with additional information to improve the handling of the international component of the COD Blacks Ops traffic.

The management of international bandwidth is a key issue for us to keep customers happy, but it is a dynamic environment. However, we can assure you that gaming traffic receives the highest priority possible.

A thread has been set up on the Gamezone forum to provide feedback on your current Black Ops concerns directly to the gaming team, which you will find here:

Unfortunately there are physical limitations on this nelis, by the time the traffic reaches the inspection level routing decisions have already been made, There would also be a significant amount of additional overhead in terms of network performance to do it that way.
 
Well I sort of blame treyarch for there stupidity. Why are they using steam in the first place and why don't they tell isp where the main server is located so that they can better understand where the problem might be. Treyarch is the worst company off all. The game is fine and all just that they only care about 1st world country's.
 
As much as I hate to say it, Silicur is the guy asking the right kinds of questions in this thread. He may do it in an abrasive way but I think he has taken those kid gloves off long ago.

For feedback - latency looks good on login tonight, lets see if it maintains itself in the raid!
 
Can't get into Age of Conan at all without using WTFast or another isp account.

Ye, me neither...and the 20KB/s dl speed on the patcher isn't fun either...

On a side note...which server do you use for WTFast?
 
I have the feeling that Black ops is going to die soon and alot of people will just go back to mw2 etc cause of this

Yeh stevenC, I am abrasive :( Guess I shouldnt be because they are trying I guess. Just for the ppl who are flaming me and defending mweb, I want to tell you a little story, will try to keep it short. Will this is for you too.

When the wow patch got released that changed the traffic or w/e, I was one of the first to complain. I had countless discussions, worked on everything from my end to make sure its nothing to do with me or Telkom, about a month later (could be more) Mweb finally admitted that that there was a big problem.

Now you know those WTfast accounts ppl are getting from mweb now? Guess who brought that to the attention of Mweb? Me.
I bought battleping and WTfast accounts for myself. I tested everything. Me and Will had private convo's etc. I did hours of testing.
I got into contact with WTfast support, asking them to change their ports they used to a port that didnt fall under shaped ports. Yeh, that was me.
After that I told Will about the results and did testing on WTfast's test server, until it was perfect and they transfered it onto their main servers. Told Will about that and some other issues till months and months later it was finally fixed. So i guess i had a hand in those nifty little WTfast accounts u guys now get. Be that as it may, no one knows that cause i didnt really care to share it.

Fast forward to the last 2 weeks about. After almost a year of great NNTP speeds, suddenly I get 8kb/s. I basically get a response from Mweb that this is normal, which clearly isnt the definition of normal is it? Then i get told something, the point of it being there is nothing wrong and this is the speeds i should expect. I cannot post the pm response cause then they will ban me from the forums. I asked for Will to then tell everyone that the speeds is here to stay in a post, so other people know what i know. This isnt for me, its for the rest of the ppl complaining. I already have the response. After that I basically get ignored by Will.

So ppl might see this as a kid throwing a tantrum or a forum troll, but its not. I do have to say that i am indeed very angry atm.

Good, thanks for the info and thank you very much for your efforts. It was then hopefully to the benefit of all. As I also said, either the Mweb experience have to improve or the customers will vote with their money by the thousands. All I say many customers is happy and let us see what Mweb can achieve without creating unnecessary bad vibes.

Calm down and give advise where you can. ;)
 
@ Pornolio - Heya dude, I gave that website a bash but whenever I try download the DG834G V3 firmware it just says not authorized to view the page and it seems like the forum is under maintenance so I cannot create a new account. Some digging around for the drivers / reasons why forum is down turns up the folllowing: Development grinded to a halt in what seems November last year and the file is nowhere to be found =(
Any chance that you have an account and could download / post mirror link if accessible for that particular firmware? Closest I got was: http://page2rss.com/1a0607897bee236ab60d047ac0f27949/4962967_4997614 which is the link for the DG834GT and I can't seem to force the v3 link with the Page2RSS link >.< Cheers!

@Silicur - I feel the rage man, the service goes from being excellent to extremely bad with no clear reason in sight. Your efforts are not unnoticed when it comes to asking the questions that need to be asked. Alot of people don't realise that you are actually on our side trying to get answers.

@Will - No disrespect here, you are also here doing your best to placate the masses but the situation is getting out of control. The WTFast accounts do not go unnoticed, they were a great idea but sadly mine added problems and we shall see what happens with them being released on a large scale basis (facebook advertising).

To add: Had to switch to AxxessLite to play WoW again tonight, which was fine, so you can't tell me 384k can't handle, especially when I don't get d/cs but on MWEB which is supposedly optimised isn't all that hot at the moment.
 
I see that after 11pm my gaming improves alot. I can log into black ops just fine. takes 15sec to go from desktop to finding a server. My ping is anything from 23 - 30ms. but anything before that by game is screwed and I can't log in. Maybe the JHB links are overloaded with all the people getting MWEB uncapped internet.

Has anyone else had connection problems when using WTFast? I tested it from work (we're on an MWEB line here) and it worked (horribly laggy but thats a broken network here). However when I got home WTFast connected, started WoW, logged in and got stuck in the loading screen. I disconnected WTFast and it works again (but still my horribly unstable latencies which generally sit between 400-700ms pings which suck when healing).
 
i didn't use wtfast last night gave me lagg spikes in orgemar o.0

though raided fine without it even ms was tad higher about 2-3 spikes that was noticeable, though killed new boss so i am happy :P

Good to see Im not the only one playing this game and also not the only one having this problem. I use the london server with port 80. My ping last night was between 350 and about 800 last night. It did spike high every now and again as well to 2400. But without wtfast I could not get in the game.

Very weird - ive always had the best of experiences using WTFast as well, yet these last few days (weeks?) i cant do anything while using it. i constantly have to log out and kill it then go back in and although the latencies doesnt seem as beautifully yellow anymore i still get roughly the same as while using it in the past. The game is actually lagging into the kilo ms's if i have it on...
