There is NOTHING TELKOM can do or even say about this. Telkom is in the wrong. They are scamming billions of rands from the public, this must end.
 
I have no idea what those charts are showing, but it looks fascinating.

oh, and Telkom sucks.

Well done Mweb i pray ICASA actually flex there muscle and force Telkom to Lower IPC pricing, thus in turn either allow you guys to have less shaping on the Mweb network or lower costs....

As great as it is that all these guys went to the trouble to make submissions, ICASA will do sweet blow all about it. Cos they know which side their bread is buttered on.
 
This means that @ R539 per month for 4 Mbps uncapped, the first 14 customers contending for bandwidth is paying the Telkom IPC!!!

Telkom: R1827 per Mbps
SEACOM: R267 per Mbps

Something is wrong with this picture....

Makes for very interesting / sad reading.
Currently the cost of national IPC bandwidth is six times more expensive than connecting to Europe with a redundant solution on two undersea cable systems. It should further be noted that in addition to the high IPC cost that the ISP pays to Telkom, the end user (consumer) also has to pay Telkom a line rental fee for the same connection in order for the end user to reach the ISP. There istherefore effectively a double charge for the same infrastructure

Telkom is 6x more expensive than dual links to EU and double charge ISP and end user!

There are some other gems, like Telkom discount structure that increases IPC costs - WTF.
 
Telkom you greedy bastards, and then you wonder why your share prices are rapidly declining each month. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Doesn’t anyone of these idiots at Telkom have business skills??
 
R1 827 per Mbps for IPC bandwidth sounds completely insane unless I'm not understanding this right. Isn't IPC bandwidth simply transit from DSLAMs to a central POP where the ISP connects with Telkom's network? It shouldn't include any international bandwidth costs as far as I know.

How can Telkom possibly charge R1 827 per Mbps when it doesn't include any international bandwidth charges? Does the IPC bandwidth costs include some other form of access?
