Mweb Local Uncapped Trial

yeah i guess we will have to see from mweb users what kind of speeds they get. aka what bwana said.

Had a 41.x.x.x IP before being capped, after being capped it went to 165.x.x.x and the stats page now shows "Local Only Access is currently in use". Busy downloading from the server-that-must-not-be-named ;), getting full speed on my 384... oh how I wish for a 4096 line now :D

I can't see this going on for long as more people start using it, surely they'll have to shape it, as Bwana said.

I can see this ending in tears.

For god's sake, someone with Mweb go through the fine print to find the part where it says how much they'll be charging you per gig after you exceed a phantom "threshold".

Believe me, I went through the entire T&C, there's nothing about local usage.

well everything seems to be going smooth here.....just like the good "old" days of last yr (thanks telskum for stopping the free local )

Not capped yet...not going to cap until near the end of the month...then I'll use <servers which are not to be named> and report back to you folks :D

PS: no guarantees that I will be capped this month as I already bought a 10GB local IS from WA, but I'll try really hard ;)

lol good point , i meant that im on bout 50gb on a standard 1gb account (local obviously:D) and still going strong:cool:

well iv mailed the info/tech depts (still waiting for replies though) and have gone through the info on their site (repeatedly:p) but as to it being 100% set in stone that we not gonna get nailed with huge bill is a different story but remember last year when telkom did the same thing there where lots of these threads going round and ppl holding their breath when the bills came.

Maybe you should give them a call just to be safe.

Just phoned now on their Tech line and spoke to a tech named brent , and good news anything downloaded locally is entirely free !:D
