MWEB mobile data prices unveiled

Hi The_Librarian

Once the base cap is exceeded, you will be billed at 15c per MB.
OOB Shark!!!!
I hear what you saying Franna.

We do have the facility available to check the usage via My Account.
That is not enough.
This OOB rate is Mweb purely trying to trick customers into getting overcharged. How come Afrihost can cap their customers, but Mweb, one of the biggest ISP's in the country can't figure out that their clients don't like being fooled into paying R150 per gig if they go past their cap. Despicable.
I agree. I will advise all I know that they shouldn't get this. They should rather go for Afrihost's deals.

So, I can sign a contract for, say, 3 GB a month and then blow it within two days and then use another 30 GB @ 15c/MB. If I walk away and don't pay, you can't do anything to me. In terms of FICA, you cannot grant me unlimited credit to build up a massive account. You have to enforce a hard cap and tell me what it is up front.

Edit: Actually the hard cap must be part of the agreement.

That's just not good enough. You guys are a bunch of amateurs. People don't want out-of-bundle charges, don't you get that?

As was mentioned by Afrihost rep, they rely on word of mouth, which is much stronger then any other form of marketing, so their advertising budget goes into offering additional services to customers, for example free Mifi devices on launch of mobile packages and promotional data.

So maybe check with your friends why they upheld from you Afrihost mobile offerings on the launch.

People don't really talk about their ISP, but everyone I know that has spoken about them uses MWeb or WebAfrica

Yes the people I've talked to talk about MWEB as well. Not in a good way though.

So , Mweb were quick to phone me....but the guy said i will need a new sim and insisted thats the only way .

Mwebguy, is this true?

The first ISP (except Telkom Mobile, who are utterly useless) to offer me 3G / LTE 60GB of data per month (with 30 day rollover of unused portion) for R299 per month (with no split day / night surfer BS)

GETS MY MONEY!!!

Yes, that's 60GB of data per month, valid for 60 days, at 3G / LTE speeds for R299 incl VAT per month!

This package is urgently needed by me to cut my costs from over R1000 per month to a manageable R300.

I am sick and tired of paying too much for too little.

And no ****ing contracts!!! This much be a PREPAID deal.

OOB rate no higher than R0.01 per meg out of loaded airtime or capped if there is none. I must be warned when it is about to run out. When it runs out, I should be capped and have to explicitly accept via a web form to continue accessing internet at OOB rate.

The supplied SIM card should be able to be loaded with airtime and to make voice calls. Loaded airtime to be use to fund OOB usage.

The 10GB Afrihost deal for R197 per month is better than this BS from MWeb but still falls far short of my DEMANDS!

I DEMAND 60GB for R299!

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING FLEECED BY THE MOBILE NETWORKS!!!
