MWEB reduces uncapped ADSL prices

This is good news. The Promotion that telkom provided did not work as well as I would have hoped.
I asked if the account will be re-opened once the trail period is finished, and they said NO. you will just carry on and start getting billed for the data. Guess what... that did not happen. I have to re-open a data account. Now with this comming into play... Busy signing up with Mweb :-P. The 1024 is workable. (Still to slow for watching aa youtube vid. but it willl have to do for now).

**** you MWEB. We want less shaping. Not cheaper accounts.

You have a a great attitude. I'm sure someone at Telkom will want to hire you just so they have someone else there to tell them that they shouldn't make any improvements to the internet in SA.

This is a awesome move in my opinion. Good job Mweb.

Well mine works properly, I can't see the shaping that apparently takes place...
I see occasional slowness, which correlates strongly with reports of Telkom outages. So why should I complain about that?.

Unlike Cybersmart, this stuff works, is reliable, and I can get support, fast!

I used to dislike MWEB, can't say I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling for them now because I do. Its nice to come home after a **** day at work and download stuff to watch and cheer oneself up.

Hmmmm just for those wondering
I have 1mb mweb account
I play games online and downloads via torrents
Now my last 4 months usage
Dec 157GB+
Jan 185GB+
Feb 156GB+
March 138GB+ (router got fried by lightning so was offline for about a week)
April so far 105GB+
This is not done by having my PC online every second of every day and no attempts is made to bypass the shaping in any form
Standard torrents for most of the downloads

Hi marine1

We believe that our 4Mbps and 10Mbps products are already competitively priced and as such chose to focus on the 384kbps and 1Mbps products. This is in line with our aim to make 1Mbps Uncapped ADSL the entry-level uncapped product in South Africa. We’ve also enabled all our 384Kbps Uncapped ADSL customers for 1Mbps speeds, for R20 less per month.

I have no problem with you looking to raise the entry level, but your reduction was accross the board why shouldn't 4mbps account holders benefit from lower IPC as well?

Before you say I sound like a grinch, I'm not with MWEB I have a really cheap R199 for 130gb capped package that I *was* considering giving up for uncapped once I knew what % of benefit you'll be passing on. Sadly 1mbps is too slow and no benefit on your 4mbps package means no justification for a jump from what I've got.

MWEB are what FNB are to me at the moment... a happy customer-business relationship
