MWEB responds to consumers

Yeh I worded that incorrectly.. what i was saying is that people like us here on the forum would find 1GB wholly inadequate, and so will a great deal of other people, but there are a few who would probably not even reach 1GB.. trust me, there are such people, which is why abroad you can even get 100, 250 and 500MB accounts.

MAD not to slate you and sound bitchy, but I think ANYONE would find 1GB inadequate......!!!! as I said 34MB would get used in no time.....thats 4MB an hour working on 8 hours surfing........patches and virus updates would eat into that soooooo quickly, what about skype etc.

no seriously, antivirus... spam control... they all come default on most mail servers... ure the ones whos making no sense here. There is no justification for that price. They are simply preying on stupid users.

Im really guessing this munwaal has no idea what he/she is talking about.

Another personal attack .... do you have any more value to add ?
Its was simply an observation. I can not understand the reasoning behind this persons posts.

People find value in MWEB's services and that's why they pay the price.

Do you think these services are free? Perhaps you would like businesses
to add a 1% markup on cost ? Get real, Services / Support / Content costs money. Businesses are there to make money.

MWEB in turn spend money on advertising on the tele which brings more users onto the Net.

You obviously dont find value in MWEB's value added services so you have the choice not to use
them. But obviously 350 000 other users find value in their products and services.

All I'm saying is that there are people who find value in these things, and who are willing to pay for them. Fine, you're not one of them, but there are plenty of them out there.

yes, but they are already on 99% of the servers out there by default... its like saying.. you can buy this car from us..and we will give you free car seats. I dont think there is a single ISP out there that doesnt run anti spam/virus filtering on all their mail servers.

PLEASE DO NOT GET PERSONAL GUYS!!! I edited a couple of posts but because of the volume of work needed to do so I will simply delete offending posts from now on so please be civil.

Thanks
Antowan

I think personally those people are being conned as all they know is Mweb, and Mweb rely on people like that.........trust me I used to work there.

I think people are over-estimating the average Joe's intelligence about PC's.

Most people [that I've met] don't have a clue what what kind of products [such as AVG] are used for.

MWEB are doing this all for them [even if they don't know it] which is always a good thing - less chance of hackers getting into their system.

so how can datapro charge (i think) R99 for the same service... Spam filtering etc etc is for the most part are automated and win server 2003/exchange 2003 have built in spam filter options so its not like they paying more to offer this "service"...

Oh yes.....

So by advertising that they have these features means they're conning the public ? That's an excellent rebuttal.

Are u using the 1Gig offering??? i admit the 3 gig etc are on par with others so if u using the 3 gig then u have no case... we are talking the 1 gig nothing else.

@Scooby.

Ok, should we list the other value added services that are provided by MWEB and compare that to Datapro's value added services?

You're missing the point guys.

This product is intended to get users off dialup and onto ADSL, that's it.

It's not meant for users who are going to be streaming content, using P2P or hosting there own mail & hosting platforms. This is getting the low consumption user off dialup and onto ADSL.

The whole point of running a business is to make money, though. It's obvious that mweb is trying to convert its dialup base to adsl, which I really don't see as a bad thing.

No ScoobyDoo I use the 3gb offering....there is a generalisation in the comment that 'MWEB rely on people like that'.....

Each to his own regarding this....If you see value in the 1gb offering great, if you don't great as well. We are all trying to convince each other why our opinion is correct....a neverending debate...that's why it's so facinating to watch ;)
