So back when the Mweb MultiPlay offer hit the scene (for those that don't know, it includes DSTV Premium, ADSL Line Rental and 1GB Mweb International for R599-00), I decided I'd go for it. I called and spoke to Tauriq, who assisted me. He said it would take <insert huge number here> weeks for it to go through, because the ADSL line installation would take a while. This made sense to me. He suggested I get the line installed first and then fax off the application. I SPECIFICALLY asked whether there was an end in sight for the offer and he said that it was to become part of their normal offers. Great. So I got the line installed and got the call last week Wednesday that ADSL was active and I should verify. So I bought a modem and did so. Great. Faxed off the forms today to Mweb (granted, 6 days later, but only 2 days of which were working days), and got a call from them saying that the offer has expired.

Where do I stand? Could I get them to give me the deal? Could I get my money back that was spent on getting the lines installed and buying a modem?

Good luck getting anything out of that bunch of sods........

I'm sure if you contact customer care and explain the situation they would be willing to look at the problem. did you go through mweb business or mweb home/connect ?

Went through Mweb home. They called me. Nazeer said he'd see what could be done

Maybe you should take it as a sign that you should walk away from any further dealings.

So Nazeer is listening to the telephonic conversation I had with Tauriq, and is going to get back to me. Never thought they actually kept those!

True. This is good news, though. I think I have a pretty good case when the original telephonic conversation that took place is taken into account

Only once I had faxed through the application forms.

But not today: was supposed to receive a call at 2:00pm. I'm one for punctuality, so once the time hit 2:10pm, I called HIM.

But otherwise I've received decent call-back from them in the past. The website's "call me back" for new services works pretty well. Just have to make a few requests :P

Well they basically told me it's my problem... Trying to escalate it, but it doesn't look good

even after listening to the recording? ask them to send you a copy of the recording.

Yup, even after the recording. Spent the better part of this afternoon on the phone to Mweb representatives. They aren't interested in helping me. Mentioned the recording, but they quickly changed subjects.

So I spoke to multiple representatives that gave me the "it's not my problem" attitude (Themba was very friendly about it though), saying AND I QUOTE "the system that handles those orders is no longer in existence". So I browsed to http://www.hellopeter.com

Received a call from Lerato now, who was very helpful and said he was pushing the order through for me. I'm happy with Mweb again now (but not with Nazeer)

*applauds.....the turn of the screw! yesssss! :D

But I hate the fact that one has to resort to such measures to avoid feeling cheated. This happens more often than I care to mention :(

hellopeter for the win. but its sad that one has to take drastic steps to make a company act.......
