Well, I guess Mweb's finally lived up to their assertion that Uncapped is for people who don't actually need to use the Internet.
Dear MWEB Customer
Please note that with immediate effect the interim international capacity that we obtained from SAIX has been significantly reduced due to constraints on their own network.
This just reminded me of of the joke about someone who is kind enough to lend you an umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back as soon as the rain starts!
I guess SAIX have higher priorities than supplying bandwidth to MWeb, although this begs the question of why they agreed to do this in the first place, knowing the likely demands...
So the best bet right now would be to stick to Telkom???
Eish
Maybe it's not that. Maybe people were DL'ng so much that MWEB was paying a fortune so they just turned the international tap off.![]()
Mweb, will we be reimbursed for a weeks outage, pro-rata?
Take that issue up with seacom. Mweb is not to blame.

You need to refer to my previous posts to spot the sarcasm.Nope. He is not SEACOM's customer, but MWEB's. At the very least MWEB should offer top up links to some cheaper SAIX resellers.
Actually they are. If I buy a car and the brakes fail because of inferior calipers made by some company in tim-buck-two, I don't sue the company in tim-buck-two but the makers of the car.Take that issue up with seacom. Mweb is not to blame.

Exactly. Im interested to hear from mweb, assuming they havent waived liability in their T&Cs, which t hey probably have![]()
Its pretty simple.
You're an ADSL user, paying for the cheapest service you could find.
So to get costs down to provide you a service at that price, they cut some of the nice parts out, like redundant international circuits.
