Mweb Sponsoring Piracy

Mweb Sponsoring Pirate Server[Resolved]

So this all started off in the thread "SA Minecraft servers" (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/642210-SA-Minecraft-servers) all posts there...

adam_g came into the thread and suggested we take a look at nukecraft.net which I did, going to their "advanced" page for the modded server(http://nukecraft.net/advanced) I noticed these 2 lines:

"both cracked and premium users welcome"
"Cracked users can get Technic launcher HERE"

Confronting adam_g he got defensive then boasted, "Both our servers are sponsored by oceanhost & mweb", after more digging it turns out he is co-owner of nukecraft(http://nukecraft.net/profile/3744609). And another MyBB member B0N3Zz(http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/member.php/289823-B0N3Zz) is the owner of the site.

A bit more baiting and he produced proof that Mweb indeed sponsors his server:
http://www.mweb.co.za/games/ClanSponsorshipPackages.aspx

As for Oceanhost all I could get out of him was:
"its not in my name you welcome to message or phone oceanhost & ask for martin and he will confim"
However my lunch is almost over so I cannot confirm this.

The server also sells in game items which is completely against Mojangs License Agreement. I have reported all this to Mojang so I'm presuming the site will be getting a cease and desist letter in short order.

So Mweb and Oceanhost, now that this is fairly high up the google page ranking, what do you have to say about sponsoring a server that allows illegally cracked copies of a game to run on it?

One final pearl of wisdom from adam_g: "We need to compete so we stay cracked."

No idea if anything will come of this but he annoyed me and I was bored.

lol this is getting funny now. Dude are you like 12 years old. Its a damn Minecraft server grow the **** up. You can report this to who the hell you like im not worried... you will just come short in the end just like you have been on that entire thread.

Hope you are going to take on everyone else as well, you know, all other hosting providers that's hosting "illegal servers"....
Why stop there, why not try to stop all other illegal activities as well happening on the net?
 
I don't like Mr.G's attitude he is actively connected to illegal activity. I don't think he is even allowed to be that Offensive.

@ScottulusMaximus. MWEB hosts the server, but what the admin does with the server is their own story. MWEB does not promote piracy and by leavign his server open he doesn't actively promote piracy either, he just doesn't stop it and neither did Notch btw.

Thats from Mweb in that thread. We have done nothing wrong he is overreacting. Like Deadmanza says he has too much time on his hands.

Where do we state that we support piracy? Just because we let someone run his server as he sees fit does not in any shape or form say we promote or endorse piracy. Our own server only allows legit copies of MC. On the selling in-game items, Adam falls within EULA for selling items as he is not selling items that allow for easier game play and its purely cosmetic as gotten from here.

The server hosted by MWEB no longer allows offline play(cracked) game clients.
 
But you see he's got mweb involved now so he's taken it to another level. & that subject heading is not good for mweb. SonZ from Mweb tried to defuse the situation but he didnt want to stop. like i said in that thread i dont want to fight. He lashed out at me.

Sponsorship You're giving them the server by the looks of it, for free... Not saying you knew it was an illegal server, but defending it when you now do isn't right. The very least you should remove your sponsorship, then I agree you have no say in what they do with the server.

I wasn't going to do anything but give him **** for this until he mentioned the sponsorship, you should know better Mweb.

His "Thor Pack" contains enchanted items and armour, not purely cosmetic(http://www.nukecraft.net/forums/m/22324100/viewthread/17214337-thor-items/post/last#last) unfortunately store is down so can't see what else they are selling...

All a moot point as Mojang is involved as well with the site/server owners details.

Yes ScottulusMaximus his server is still on there as he is still sponsored by us. I have removed the option for cracked clients to connect to his server, Mojang can take up the cash for items with Adam if they so want.
