So you agree that 600GB on a 1Mbps account is deemed acceptable?
And how do you get that number? A 1Mbps account can download roughly 275GB if it's running constantly and at full speed 24/7 for the entire month.

Now that would be impressive!
For every person who utilizes his line 99% there are 100's that only use 1% of it's capacity.
Why ask a question like that?
You mweb guys can't fathom such large amounts of data
300gb does not get me throttled on TI.
Why would anyone in their right minds argue that a person is abusing their account if it is an uncapped account?
Not condoning abuse.
I just think there is a problem when the limit is not clear and folks choose to argue the fact as though 32gb is abuse.
And then mweb pipes in about a 30 day rolling window?
It's all a bit of a joke really.
2mb , sorry.
I should have mentioned
So why did you not reach 600GB or 750GB as per my calculation you could achieve? again a bit of proof would be appreciated.
I don't feel the need to download that much.
This is what the MWEB disciples don't realize, you don't use your line 100% for the whole month. Some months you download more and some months you download less but in the end it is your choice. If you happen to feel like downloading a lot then best you move to another ISP who doesn't have magical caps.
Looking on the forums, MWEB is bleeding customers at the moment. I download a lot so I moved away from them a few months ago and have been quite happy with Afrihost. When I download too much my P2P gets shaped but the rest of my line still works. When you download too much with MWEB they throttle your line down to minimum speed to just stay inside the definition of uncapped as per ICASA.
What they don't realize is that a lot of guys on MYBB work in IT. We are in the process of moving all our customer accounts (40+ uncapped accounts as well as about 20 corporate accounts) from MWEB because of this ridiculous throttling. Nothing worse than getting phone calls from irate customers because MWEB decided to throttle them. They don't care if it is the ISP. The buck stops with us to supply them with always on internet and our bucks are going to be spent on an ISP that can give us that service.
Anyone know how big their base is?
Hey guys, im throttled because of 213 GB, in your opinion am i at fault or not?
213 past 30, mweb uncapped, definitely standard afaik ( bf3 promotion a couple of years back)
If I recall the promo it was uncapped 1024 premium, R199 pm, take a look on your account, know the special got my bf3 on one.
213GB is 17hours on a 1Mb or 8.5hours on 2Mb if you pay 369 (based on linespeed). I would say not bad. you may not agree though. I still think 75GB per mb is adequate (300GB on a mweb and AH 4Mb account seems to bet all I can get under normal usage, had to really try with AH though)
What? :wtf:
213GB is 19-days, 17-hours at the line-speed of 1Mbps and 9-days and 20-hours at 2Mbps, under ideal conditions.
While I don't think it's possible to call maxing a 1- or 2Mbps line "abuse" that's certainly using what you're paying for.
