Mweb throttling

You can't buy the cheap crappy account and then decide the ISP is crap. That's exactly what you're doing.

But if a different ISP has a better cheap crappy account than mweb, can I not say that that ISP would be better for me?

Dumb comparison, Ford Figo doesn't stop after less mileage than a Mustang. You're only as strong as your weakest link.

if I were to move to a different ISP like webafrica, how would I transfer the line from mweb to them? Would there be a time where I would have no internet as I read that you need to give 30 day notice of cancellations? Would I have to stay with mweb and the throtte or what?

This happened now, not in the past. Getting throttled at 118GB on a 4Mb/s account is absurd.

I really do think you're not getting who these "standard" accounts are aimed at. They're for the mom and pops that facebook and email that just want something that works.

If you're a moderate you premium.

You get what you pay for.

But why would I stay with mweb where I have to pay more for my needs, when I can go to a different ISP that suits my needs at roughly the same price as we are paying currently?
 
4mbps uncapped at price of r239 should be similar restrictions :(

All ISPs in this price range are crap. Always shaping or throttling. Afrihost has home accounts with even worse thresholds:
