Hi Wolfy

I checked the account and line readings. I have to say the line readings does seem irregular. The attenuation is currently at 62.5dB.

I have re-authed the account, power down the router for 30 minutes and test after that. If you still can't connect, please test with these details just to see if you can get a connection:

username: guest@telkomadsl
ppassword: guest

You will only be able to access the Telkom site with those details. Also, before testing, please make sure you have your username and password.

my line has always been so crappy here.. my snr margin always remains above the 10 margin so ummm i dunno what else it xould be. even with a 62.5db attenuation never really had problems before

and thanks for the fast reply!!!

Mine going full speed.

You are really lucky. This month I would say of my total news servers downloads, I have only managed about 15% from MWeb news server; the bulk is via astraweb, even though a lot of those files are new

I'm leaving mweb to try afrihost. Will start with afrihost end August. One reason may be the pricing I'm sure you're all aware of (4mb or 10mb), but something that is making me say I can't wait to move is how strict mweb's "abuse" department is. I have tried to get the best value for my rand out of my account and have been trying various methods of staying under the radar. After a couple of to and fro's it seems that if you download more than 21gb per day consecutively then you get letters and want to cut you off. They dont take into account your monthly usage (mine works out to be about half of continual full line speed usage). It is really frustrating to have to watch your usage on what is supposed to be an uncapped account. Even making sure your unattended downloads are only taking place in off peak times is not good enough for them, you still get a letter threatening to cut you off after a weekend. I don't think it's fair to pay a premium (and yes, since price drops at most other ISPs, the mweb price is a premium), for a 4mb account but be told you can only use the equivalent of half of it. Afrihost I think has better policies and pricing. Mweb, you need to work on this.

Hi ianst1024

By the sounds of things, it seems like you have been in contact with our abuse department. Can I ask you to PM me the MWEB account details.

@MWEB Guy,

I am experiencing that issue I had a month or so ago.... I lose any data throughput on my connection, and when I go check my router status, there is no Gateway address. It comes and goes ??? What gives?

My Youtube went sort of down the drain lately. Not sure what the reason has been, but when I'd pause (to let it buffer 720p or to watch later), it wouldn't buffer. It would only download when it plays ( :/ ).

Hi droplet and froot

This is weird, everything is running smoothly on your side, just not Youtube. So everything loads fine, its just when you want to watch the video that its slow.

Yes. I think the problem is sitting with Yutube perhaps. Mostly the speeds I get on Mweb going towards the clip is fine.

clear your browser cache. i had the same problem a little while ago. clearing the cache sorted it out

Mweb Guy,
What modem does Mweb offer free with the GAME special where you R1000 off a console when you sign a 12 month contract?
Is it a wifi adsl modem?

Hi Fayaaz,

I'm not sure that a modem is offered as part of the deal as one of the requirements are that you have an active ADSL line.
