MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Are you for real? That was one issue. The Afrihost business customers have nothing but good things to say about the account, and they've experienced no issues this weekend. If you're going to pass up unshaped office hours, priority after hours performance, priority customer service, the best line management facility, smartphone app, best website etc. for the same price as Mweb Premium, you're just going to lose out. But it's your money to flush down the Telkom toilet.

No this was the second time I tried out Afrihost uncapped. The first time was when they launched it. And was that a balls up of note! And a week of non working internet is enough for me to stay away for a while. Telkom is the same price, so I can't see why I shouldn't give it a go.

O yes, and just 2 weeks ago an Afrihost capped account that I had couldn't authorize and was down for an entire day. Apparently the problem effected a large portion of their users. Noooo thanks.

Don`t you just love it when they hide behind legal terms and conditions?

Yeah well - I'm so fed up with the poor MWeb backup service I just shelled out 100 bucks for pro-rata service from Axxess until the end of the month.

It's school holiday ffs - kids are at home and want to use the internet for various purposes - ps3, youtube, skype, browsing, facebook, etc

Afrihost has had problems in the past, but they seem to have settled in to their new environment. I'm not recommending home uncapped, I'm recommending their business uncapped. It's a far superior experience than anything you'll find elsewhere for the same money.

This is seriously pathetic. I left Mweb after the last big Seacom fiasco in 2010, and returned to them thinking that they would have learned their lesson re redundancy. Seems like they haven't. How the heck can one depend on the very same unreliable provider for a redundant link? If there is SAT-3 redundancy, then I'm seeing 0 evidence of it.

and the best part is that it literally took me seconds to do - no call centre - everything online - click, click, click - bada boom bada bing!

We might not be able to agree that Apple products are crap but at least we can agree that were not getting value for money from mweb ;)

Why is it not possible to give us a reliable, if slow, service when SEACOM is out. My uncapped MWEB line is less than useless today. Speeds all over the place. Websites not opening. Downloads stopping. It's so erratic and unreliable it is useless. Why can't we just get a reliable connection of a certain slow speed until the backup is online (if/when that happens). 25 minutes remaining on a 2.5MB file...

Hi SabreWolfy

We are running on reduced back up capacity: http://www.mweb.co.za/helpcentre/NetworkStatusNotices.aspx

What downloads are you having speed issues with?

Mweb is not really helping clients here.. I suspect they may lose clients this week if nothing happens

MWEB members in all areas will experience degraded internet browsing, email and other internet services due to a SEACOM link failure. Seacom has confirmed multiple undersea breaks off the coast of Egypt and Seacom are working on providing alternative bandwidth. Please note that shaping on non priority traffic will be in effect.

So international HTTP is non priority traffic?

Copy, paste...fail ;) Maybe copy and paste what he copied and pasted in caps lock? I mean if he didn't understand it in lowercase then maybe capital letters will change the meaning or interpretation *sarcasm* :)

Sorry why are you repeating what I have said? Not to be rude bro, but hell, play open cards, or get my account canceled without the notice period!
