MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 2

Steam downloads are extremely slow, and this is from the local Steam server, Afrihost, WebAfrica and Imaginet have no issues. It has to be time to cancel.

Download Speed: 5099 kbps (637.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 373 kbps (46.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: -1 ms

That's to London.

But I guess I'm being shaped like mad. Pointless only seeing numbers like these in speed tests.
 
Im not going to lie, but MWEB have let me down, speeds are very slow and service is not so good.

Problem is, i have to wait 3 more months as i am on that promotion thingy, 2 months for free blah blah.

Same here - never signing an agreement like this again... They come with a great deal then turns oit to be different...

Why is the News server running so slow. Been like this for a few days now, i got full line speed just after the big Seacom thing, then it was down bout half my line speed, ond today it is down to 0 kbps and 1 kbps it jumps between there. I thought with so many ppl leaving things will get better but it does not look that way. please advise, is it time to move on or will Mweb look into these problems.

Edit: And like magic i get half line speed from the News Server.

Can anyone tell me how much is considered abuse before I get an email from mweb on my 2mb line. I have really started to use the line in thew last 2 months and so far this month have used 100gb. Still cant believe it but what can you do

I reckon next month will be quieter but I just dont want to get a nasty abuse email :D

Mayby a few spankings would force honesty in the industry.

i cancelled my acc cuz i had probs with it b4 the seacom issue ,they phone and told me they will phone later and try to fix my speed,and they will give me 1 month free if i stay months more

my honest opinion they just want to keep us so we can give them more money :P
 
Ok.. So when MWEB phoned me to tell me about this awesome new deal. 6 months contract and first two months free, I decided let's give it a try.

Seeing that my previous ISP was having all sorts of problems, and the MWEB salesperson told me that they are much better than my previous ISP, I thought that this should be a nice change.

Well, now I'm sitting with 15kB/s download speeds from the MWEB News Server and overall download and browsing speeds of about 60kB/s. And the best of all is that I have a 6 month contract with them now. That is one way to screw someone.
