Ok changed details, IP address did change but still on 197.x.x.x. Downloads from Nvidia seem to be limited to 150kb/s? Which is better than before but not the speed it should be.

The speed test results are much better.

Please monitor your connection and let me know how it goes.

Checked my router. Noticed it not in bridge mode anymore. Changed it back to bridge. Should now only show 1 connection, hopefully.

However, speeds is still the same. Dropped my PPPOE and reconnected and still the same. FNB account still running much faster than the Mweb one. - 177.5 KB/s on MWEB, FNB ran via international new server 700+KB/s.

Thnx for the headsup on the second connection. Was surprised that it allowed a second connection.

The speeds you are obtaining on the international news server, is that will all files or the one?
 
My speedtest and syncing speed are good but my downloads of all types are slow as hek :(

Good evening, what type of downloads are you running and what are your actual download speeds?

Well, I'm just switching accounts, so alt.binz still connects to the same server and files. With the FNB account, I am only managing about 10 connections to the international news server, with mweb it allows all 30 connections international and 4 = Mweb.

So actually getting better speeds with less connections via FNB than with a full amount of connection via Mweb.

Have stopped all downloads now. Just to slow.

So have you tested downloading another file?

Started a new file, which should be cached and it's still the same.. +- 200KB/s

Speed test is also showing ok'ish results, but downloads, not at that speed at all.



Normally get over 1000KB/s when it's going great...


Oops, somehow did a test on a JHB server. Here is the CPT one.

Much closer to normal..

tried torrents, they dont move, tried newshosts and they at +-50kbps

busy with ftp and is around 180.

seems like it did the trick! thank mwebguy.

just a question, why are there different "realms" for each username, ie @mweb.co.za and @dslmweb.co.za? any why does it impact user performance?
 
Okay well im totally dead on my line.

Nothjng is syncing and router keeps saying its unconfigured. 3 different routers with 3 different accounts and even the same account, still nothing.

My phone line is also crackling seriously badly and yeah.

Please see uts not my account and it is the line?
 
Is anything wrong on MWEB's side this morning? Struggling to get above half my usual download speed from Guildwars 2 patch, nvidia drivers or torrents. Has been slow since last night.
 
Was having slow speeds since sunday and bam last night the entire line went down.

Give Telkom a call too and see if your line is working fine :)

We are not experiencing any issues currently.

Tell me is it just your download speed giving you trouble ?

Streaming also seems slow and pages that contain a lot of images also take quite a while longer to load than usual.

EDIT: I'm also seeing that I have packet loss on Teamspeak
 
Just talked to one of my friends on Teamspeak. He also has lower than usual download speeds (33KB/s vs 105KB/s) and packet loss. Hamachi also won't connect for either of us. He lives about 25km from me (Hatfield), so we are definitely not on the same exchange.
