Diablo 3 is almost unplayable at the moment and every time it freezes up, I see that the rest of my Internet is dead as well..don't know if it's telkom...sounds more like an MWEB problem (we aren't on the same exchanges after all..)

Hi

Please drop me a PM with your account info if you still having trouble with your connection.
Also is it only gaming thats problematic or other traffic too?

Hi Mweb Guy

Want to jump on the gaming ping issue bandwagon. My browsing/downloads seem fine, but ping to WoW has been unplayable for about 4 days now. Usually get 200-300ms to eu servers, and im jumping as high as 6000 with nothing below 1000 at the moment.

Something must be wrong.

EDIT: Download speed has gone down the toilet as well it seems. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/2836603306
Steam updating (local servers) at an average of about 5kb/s

Hi Dysphoric

Please also provide me with a tracert.

Have you made contact with our Gaming admins on our dedicated gaming site/forum?

Anyone else battling with connecting to MikroTik devices via Winbox on MWEB Home Premium Uncapped today? Looks like their traffic management system is killing TCP port 8291?

I have a couple of clients on MWEB Business Capped accounts, staying logged in to their RouterBoard's today for more than 10 seconds via plain old Winbox is just impossible. However if I create a PPTP VPN tunnel to the device which uses TCP port 1723 or else change my routing at home to send Winbox packets via my FNBConnect account I can stay logged in indefinitely.

MWEB Guy - any reason why I'm battling today? I can ping my client business IP's just fine (they're not losing connectivity at all) and as said PPTP VPN or FNBConnect is no problem. Doubt I should be bothering your Premier guys with this as I don't think it's a problem at the business end?

Hi Mal1ce

Please provide me with the MWEB account in question and I look into it. If it's a business premier account they will be assisting you with it.

Does all of this look right? Once again my net doesn't seem to be working as it should...

This trace route look fine to me.

Is there anything I can assist you with

Im trying to play DayZ Overwatch, we got a server here in SA about 3 days ago. But when i try join i get "waiting for host." Only to close the game and see that my network icon on the right corner of my screen has the little yellow arrow saying there is limited or no internet access. Its been happening all day today.

Hi MWEB Guy,

Since 12:45 today I've been unable to stream low bitrate financial data from my data provider(s). I've tried many servers in various locations around the globe, none of them work. This problem seems to be specific to MWEB. Afrihost works fine.

I'm not sure which port is used, when I open an account it seems to communicate OK via port 443 and account creation is successful. However when data steaming is supposed to commence, the connection seems to be cut off or throttled to the extent that its unusable. I'm not sure which port is used for data streaming though.

I have rebooted my PC and modem several times and it makes no difference.

This has always worked fine, and as I said, it's fine with Afrihost. Local and international web browsing also seems fine.

Has MWEB started to throttling additional ports?

Please advise.

I posted the above using my Afrihost backup account. After posting, I rebooted the router with the MWEB configuration file. Now everything seems to work fine.

Still, I would like to know what the problem is, because it has occurred several times in the past. There seems to be a lot of short duration or intermittent problems with my MWEB connection (especially international). Reliability is very important to me. Please note that I don't have the same experience with Afrihost.

I have problems with WoT as well, from the usual 200ms ping to 500+ ms. The wife reported as well bad connectivity during the day, plus I had an unusual disconnect just now. Seems something wrong again here, but also seems to be ignored?

Internal problems at Mweb?

thx...this provide trace route thing does not do it for me if there are suddenly more people complaining ;)

Something is clearly wrong. SC2 has been nigh on unplayable for about 2 weeks now. Twitch streams are only loading about 20% of the time. And when they do I can only view them at 360p when 480p used to be fine in the past.

KZN part of this northern region?, those speeds on a 4mb line are stupid.

Quite infuriating actually. Always seems to slow and get repeated disconnects over the weekend.

Frustrating.

4mbps uncapped.
