Hi MWEB Guy!

This doesn't relate to Internet, but at the moment we have a server hosted with you guys (It was mw3 but now teeworlds), but we want to change it to a Minecraft Server!... The only problem is that when I log into the TCadmin console I can't change much, I don't know how turn off the Teeworlds server and start the Minecraft one! Is it possible to get one of your gaming support guys to help? I think it has to be done from your side!

Thanks!!

Oliver

Good Day

I have sent your request along to our gaming team for some assistance.

MWEB Guy - a few days ago I saw something about MWEB pulling support from the NNTP server - if this is untrue, ignore this. However, I am wondering - Isn't it cheaper to run an NNTP server than force your clients to find other means of downloading (internationally) and costing you more money?

Actually the same problem as a couple/few weeks ago, it's connecting but nothing is downloading, it just connects and connects and connects .........

We do not support torrents and such content. told to me by MWEB Guy

What does this mean?

Hi sh00t1ngst4r

As mentioned numerous times on our thread, torrents and such content is not supported due to the nature of the content. It does not mean, we blocked it on our Network.

Torrents are a contended service and these speeds have never been guaranteed. Please also keep in mind that these types of services receive low priority on our Network.

This means that MWEB as a daughter company of Multichoice will do everything in their power that you would not download content which compete with Multichoise's core business of pay TV .

Please be more specific in regards to NZb's , my speeds to the mweb server are getting worse every week .

NZB is seen as a P2P download, and will retain a lower priority on the network -- also known as shaping.

When the network is less congested with priority protocols, http / ftp /email P2P applications will see more speed
MWEB does deep packet inspection to determine the nature of a download, and will apply dynamic shaping accordingly.
SSL / VPN bypasses the above inspection - but will also causes a slap on the wrists from powers-that-be, as this contravenes their own TOS

Continual disconnects today? Hopefully only a short while left, have got the cancellation forms in front of me.

Hi PurSpyk!!

Our technical specialist will be doing a follow up with you this evening between 19h00 & 19h30

Yes, the cancellations department said so, unfortunately after 2 months of calls, I still have the same issues. Nothing has been resolved? Explain how this service can even be classified as a premium service. My wife was trying to download something for my son this morning, not a torrent, a file from Google Drive, and first the speed was so bad the site would not load and then the download just stopped. She gets continually logged off Facebook, the connection seems to continually drop.

I can understand that torrents do not get top priority, but things like Steam downloads (when the download server has been set to your Cape Town server), and things like Windows Updates and driver downloads from Nvidia, take 3 hours to download, where before they were a few mins, then there is something seriously wrong.
